Half Acre Meat Wave Returns, Cans a Future Hope

Half Acre Meat Wave India Pale Ale returns June 26th, 2015. An English-style IPA.

Half Acre Meat Wave was brewed years back, “celebrating” Chicago’s love of meat. Meat Wave was released once before in cans. Half Acre indicates this will happen again, once the Governor of Illinois signs a recent piece of legislation.

Dry hopped with weight, this beer drinks with an herbaceous and earthy quality.

Half Acre Meat Wave India Pale Ale is will be available in 22oz bottles and draft, starting at 12 noon.

Oskar Blue Pinner Throwback IPA Headed to 19.2oz Cans

Oskar Blues PINNER Throwback IPA hit the scene earlier this year, and is now in 44 states in 12oz cans. Seeing its hoppy success, the brewery is adding the “stovepipe” 19.2 ounce cans.
Dale’s Pale Ale was first in the big can, followed by Mama’s Little Yella Pils.

The single serve 19.2oz cans will debut first in Colorado and North Carolina, then California and Illinois.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale To Release in 12oz Cans

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, the brewery’s legendary IPA, will roll out in 12oz cans in September, 2015.

Currently, Two Hearted Ale is already available in 12oz bottles, 16oz cans, and draft.

This is something we have been talking about for some time,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale 12oz cans will be distributed nationwide in 12 packs.

Half Acre Forced to Change IPA Name Yet Again

Back in January, Half Acre changed the name of Heyoka India Pale Ale to Senita India Pale Ale. The change came after members of the Lakota (Native Americans from the Great Plans of the United States) reached out to Half Acre about the use of the term.

Well guess what. Half Acre is forced to change the name again, after another brewery raised concerns that Senita India Pale Ale might be too close in branding to another beer. That named got Half Acre a Cease & Desist letter.

Now, fans will know this storied IPA as Half Acre GoneAway IPA. Hopefully this beer doesn’t warrant another C&D letter.

Flying Dog The Gourd Standard: Hops Meet Pumpkin

Flying Dog The Gourd Standard, a hoppy pumpkin offering on the horizon from the Frederick, Maryland brewery.

As you can gleen from the label, the base beer is an India pale ale, brewed with pumpkin puree and mix of spices.

I know it’s cheesy, but I feel grate about tonight. We just have to keep in mind that if the clock gets hungry, it will go back four seconds, but the bike can’t can’t stand alone because it’s two-tired. My one friend used to be addicted to soap, but he’s clean now. And whatever the banana wears better be appealing. Seriously, this is going to be the gourd standard at parties.

Flying Dog The Gourd Standard will be available in 12oz bottles. The brewery has not yet announced this offering.

Upslope Thai Style White IPA Makes Seasonal Appearance

Upslope Thai Style White IPA is available once again. Six packs of of this tropical citrus beer is shipping to the brewery’s entire distribution area.

“What started as a collaboration with Denver’s Euclid Hall Bar and Kitchen has evolved into a tap room favorite. When deciding on our next Limited Release style, the answer was easy,” said Upslope Founder, Matt Cutter. “Uncommon ingredients like Thai basil, ginger, lemongrass and coriander combine to give our Thai IPA its unique, but well balanced, signature flavor.”

Upslope Thai Style White IPA is brewed with  a Belgian wit yeast, plus a blend of seven different Asian-inspired spices.
