This is Beer Street Journal’s wrap-up of  #IPADay 2013 from SweetWater Brewing Company. The brewery has trended the last two years as one of the hoppiest hot spots on social media on this day. The lineup is, of course, crazy. A sampling of the hop love includes Chocolate Bourbon IPA, Whiskey Barrel IPA, Hop Hash IPA, Some Strange (Dank Tank throwback), Double Bourbon Aged IPA, and all the cask offerings.

Overall, it was yet another successful IPA Day across the U.S. Here at SweetWater, five IPA cask variations were gone in an hour. I’m pretty sure the barrel-aged IPAs blew at the same time. One thing’s for sure: America’s love affair with hops continues. Check out the video above and the pics below.

SweetWater IPA Day 2011 [PICS]

Below are pictures from SweetWater IPA Day back in 2011.

In all honesty, Beer Street Journal has come a long way with photography and video since 2011. At the time, I was trying to post pictures live from the event directly to the website. This was long before Instagram or even live streaming.

While I was shooting with at Canon Rebel t2i then, and was using an iPhone X to upload the pictures “live”. There’s no metadata on the photos, but they have to be iPhone – so they are all incredibly low resolution.

All that being said, besides the big lineup of casks and a few friend pics, you can see the early stages of SweetWater’s brewery expansion.
