Westbrook Celebrates 2nd Anniversary with Cap’n Skoon

Westbrook’s second anniversary beer, Cap’n Skoon, will be released in bottles.

“Inspired by the legendary and fictional adventures of the mythical Cap’n Skoon(who bears an uncanny resemblance to our Head Brewer, Scott Koon), the Ballistic Baltic Stoutis a massive imperial stout fermented with a lager yeast.”

Westbrook celebrated their second anniversary on December 20thserving their first anniversary beer, Mexican Cake, as well as Cap’n Skoon only on tap, but will now be releasing bottles of Cap’n Skoon  in the near future.

DuClaw Creating Cocoa Bourbon Barrel Retribution

DuClaw keeps it coming with yet another awesome bourbon-barrel beer. This tasty treat is a twist on their already awesome Retribution stout. Cocoa Retribution is infused with cocoa nibs and aged in bourbon barrels kicking up the ABV a bit compared to the original. They’re right, it is time to savor some sweet justice!

A full-bodied single-barrel bourbon-aged imperial stout with smooth roasted malt flavor and rich aromas of espresso and dark chocolate. Aged for 6 months inside charred Kentucky white oak bourbon barrels with cocoa nibs to add the natural vanilla and caramelized sugar flavors of the wood, and bittersweet chocolate, and the slick velvety mouthfeel of the cocoa to the beer.”

Patience will be more than a virtue as we await the arrival of this sexy beer.

As 2012 is slowly coming to an end, we all deserve a happy ending to a long year. As part of the brewery’s Catch and Release seasonal lineup of brews, SweetWater Brewing is proud to announce that Happy Ending returns just in time for the end of the year, or world, depending who you believe.

“The Imperial Stout is brewed with Centennial and Willamette hops, and finished off with a dry-hop addition of Cascade and Simcoe hops. Measuring out to a whopping 9% ABV, the award-winning beer is a true dry-hopped stiffy with an explosive finish.”

Happy Ending will hit shelves in 6 packs and 22-ounce hand-waxed bombers, and on draft in select locations by the end of the year.
