New Realm Radegast Triple IPA makes a 3rd appearance

New Realm Radegast Triple IPA Labels

New Realm Radegast Triple IPA returns to the Atlanta brewery’s lineup on January 14th.

When New Realm opened its first facility in Atlanta just over a year ago, brewmaster Mitch Steele celebrated with a big imperial IPA known as Radegast. The 11.5% alcohol by volume “triple IPA” features Warrior, Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops, plus a touch of Dextrose sugar. New Realm has since added a second location in Virginia.

This boozy hop bomb is back for a third time this month- a pretty epic imperial IPA that is nostalgic of a time when IPAS didn’t need candy and lactose and flour to make you love it. This is an old school, west coast IPA and it’s glorious.

Expect huge citrus, resin and peach flavors plus mild malt character in both nose and taste. Radegast is aggressively bitter and full-bodied due to its alcohol content, but it’s not sweet.

New Realm Radegast Triple IPA is available on-site at the brewery on starting January 14th. (Atlanta)

Style: Imperial IPA
Hops: Warrior, Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado

Availability: 16oz Cans, Draft. Limited Release.
Latest Return: 1/14/20

11.5% ABV

Pliny the Younger will finally be bottled in 2020

Russian River Pliny the Younger Bottles

One of the most sought after India pale ales on planet Earth – Pliny the Younger, will finally be bottled for the first time in 2020.

California’s Russian River Brewing has achieved platinum status in the craft brewing industry, in both the sour/wild ale category and the India pale ale category. Most notably, three epic IPAs – Blind Pig, Pliny the Elder, and once a year – Pliny the Younger. Each unique and forever memorable in their own right – each making a pretty massive impression on the beer world. None garner so much fanfare and fervor like Pliny the Younger

Once a year, lines form in late winter, for the once-a-year taste of the “Younger,” which finds those in attendance wondering if Russian River Brewing ever bottle this- the most elusive IPA in the industry, will ever be bottled.

We have our answer.

Russian River Pliny the Younger will be available in bottles on February 7th, 2020.

On the 16th release of this triple IPA, always tapped and celebrated on first Friday in February… Younger will be available in bottles. Even Russian River let their faithful to believe they probably would never see this day.

Thanks to the added capacity, space, and production ability with Russian River’s Windsor, California location they opened in the past year, Pliny the Younger in bottles is officially a reality. Younger will be available at both brewpubs on February 7th-20th, 2020. Guests will be able to buy 2 bottles at either brewpub, tracked by a fourth tab on the wristband they receive upon entering.

There will be no distribution of Younger bottles. Draft distribution starts the second week of February 2020.

All Chinook hops: Wild Leap Alpha Abstraction Vol 9

Wild Leap Alpha Abstraction Vol 9

Wild Leap Alpha Abstraction Vol 9 joins the ongoing imperial IPA series in October.

The Alpha Abstraction Series is designed to highlight a specific hop varietal. This edition is built on Michigan grown Chinook hops. While this particular hop is known to be big on pine flavors with hints of pineapple, this particular crop is the reverse- pineapple first, with hints of pine.

“With Michigan Chinook, we are finding that those flavors have almost flipped, and we are getting a much sweeter result with a strong pineapple essence.” – Chris Elliott, Head Brewer

Wild Leap Alpha Abstraction Vol 9 is available in 12-ounce cans and draft for a limited time.

Stone’s 23rd Anniversary release is coming this week. Hint, it’s hoppy

Stone 23rd Uncanny Anni Double IPA

Stone 23rd Uncanny Anni Double IPA releases in the coming week, a celebration of 23 years of craft brewing.

Over the years, Stone Brewing’s anniversary releases have covered a plethora of styles. The 5th Anniversary release was an IPA, followed by a porter on the 6th. 12th was Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, and 15th a Black IPA. Some years it was an IPA with all German hops and malts, others all Austrailian, there was even hazy IPA in there somewhere.
