Dogfish Head Squall IPA returns from hiatus

Dogfish Head Squall IPA is back on shelves. The beer has been on hiatus for a few years now.

Squall IPA is a continually hopped (much like 60, 90, & 120 Minute IPAs), as well as unfiltered. The imperial IPA is also bottled conditioned, to allow the beer to naturally carbonate.

Clocking in at 9% ABV, this citrus-forward IPA has a hoppy aroma with floral notes of pine and grapefruit.

Dogfish Head Squall IPA is a limited release in 750 milliliter bottles.

Upper Hand Double Ringer, the 9th release

Upper Hand Double Ringer will mark the ninth release in the Michigan brewery’s lineup. The brewery has been open since November, 2014.

Double Ringer is an imperial IPA, brewed solely with Equinox hops. The result is a hoppy beer with notes of pine and tropical fruit. Meant to be drank as fresh as possible.

 “You’ll find few places where spring is more vibrant than northern Michigan. With its intense aromas and flavors, Double Ringer will stir up your senses, just like the perfect spring day,” commented Larry Bell, President and Founder of Upper Hand Brewery and Bell’s Brewery, Inc.

Upper Hand Double Ringer will be available in April throughout Michigan’s upper peninsula, and northern Wisconsin.

Short’s Batch 5000 marks a 12 year milestone

Short’s Batch 5000 marks a milestone by the Bellaire, Michigan based brewery. As the name suggests, it’s their 5000th Batch of beer.

It took Short’s 12 years to cross the 5000 threshold. Joe Short, the brewery’s founder brewed the first batch of beer on April 26th, 2004. Since then, he’s seen steady growth and demand for his beers.

The milestone is is celebrated in hoppy fashion, with Short’s Batch 5000, dubbed a “triple IPA”. Head brewer Tony Hansen mentions years of anniversary parties where Short’s would celebrate with a lineup of huge IPAs. Taking pieces of the brewery’s best hoppy offerings, they concocted this monster triple IPA, as they set off toward their 10,000th batch. (By the way, it’s 15% ABV)

Short’s Batch 5000 hit shelves in limited quantities over the past few weeks, sold only in their home state of Michigan.

Dogfish Head Romantic Chemistry is a new seasonal by the Delaware-based brewery, debuting this week at their home base.

Dogfish Head’s most popular style – the India pale ale, has been enhanced by mangoes, ginger, and apricots. It may sound odd to use all three together, but hey – that’s some Dogfish Head Romantic Chemistry (Punny, right?) A bit like Aprihop, but with a little extra.

What you have here is a serious IPA shacking up & hunkering down with mangoes and apricots. At the same time!

Dogfish Head Romantic Chemistry will be available in 12 ounce bottles and draft starting in February, 2016.
