Creature Comforts made an imperial Tropicalia, and it’s called Tropicalisima

Athens, Georgia based Creature Comforts has a popular year-round IPA known as Tropicalia. Fan of the brewery can’t get enough of it. So much so, that a simple 6-pack isn’t easy to find.

Today, an imperial edition of Tropicalia debuts – Creature Comforts Tropicalisima.

The hop bill is the same as the year-rounder, featuring a double dose of Citra, Centennial, and Galaxy. The yeast is the same one found in another taproom release – Duende.

…the beer has a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a hazy golden orange color. upon pouring we get floral, honeydew, and orange characters in the aroma. these notes prepare your palate for the orange peel, mango, lemon custard, and grapefruit pith.

Creature Comforts Tropicalisima is available at a taproom only release in 12 ounce cans. No distribution.

The Veil Brewing #LadyBrozNightOut releases, benefiting a great cause

The Veil Brewing #LadyBrozNightOut debuts today at the brewery in Richmond, Virginia.

This “lady” edition of Veil’s Broz Night Out, #LadyBrozNightOut is a 100% Citra hopped imperial IPA, brewed with healthy dose of hibiscus. As you can see in the picture above, the resulting beer pours a beautiful red color.

A portion of the sales of this beer will benefit the Pink Ink Fund, a non-profit dedicated to aid people needing assistance with their post mastectomy tattoo needs as part of their Breast Reconstruction due to Breast Cancer and/or breast cancer susceptibility gene diagnosis.

The Veil Brewing #LadyBrozNightOut will be available in 16 ounce cans and draft when the brewery opens on April 18th.

The Veil Brewing Unique Friendshipz debuts April 18th

The Veil Brewing Unique Friendshipz, a new imperial IPA, debuts April 18th.

This new imperial IPA recipe is brewed with all El Dorado hops; described the Veil as boasting “tropical aromatics and flavor profile.”

Around 160 cases of The Veil Brewing Unique Friendshipz will be available for purchase when the brewery opens on April 18th.

Founders Doom returns in May

Founders Doom, the brewery’s barrel-aged imperial IPA, will be available once again in May.

Doom is based off another beer dubbed – Hand of Doom that has made appearances in the Founder’s taproom in the past. 2013 was the first (and only) time this beer was bottled; part of the brewery’s Backstage Series. Founders takes their imperial IPA Double Trouble and aged in oak bourbon barrels.

Doom may be impending but that doesn’t mean you have to fear it. A collision of worlds, the intense hop character of our imperial IPA mingles with the warm vanilla and oak notes imparted from time spent in our favorite bourbon barrels. Like all good things, Doom comes to those who wait.

New for 2017, Founders Doom will be available in 12 ounce bottles for the first time, as well as the well-known 750 milliliter bottles. The brewery has set a street date of May 12th.

This summer, look for Founders DKML, a barrel-aged malt liquor to join the Barrel-Aged Series.

Hoppy Spring. Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA returns

Dogfish Head’s IPA lineup breaks down into 60 Minute, 61 Minute, 75 Minute, 90 Minute, and 120 Minute. “Dogfish 120” as it’s called, is the most boozy. (Seriously, don’t funnel this one.)

The 18+% ABV monster is hopped daily for a month, while aging on whole leaf hops. Almost all states that receive Dogfish Head will get 120 Minute bottles: DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, CA (Draft only), FL, TX, CT, MA, ME, IL, KY, MI, AZ, CO, NV, OR, WA, IN, RI, WI, D.C.

Those that don’t, thanks to restrictive (read: archaic and stupid) laws: Georgia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Vermont, South Carolina, and Ohio.

The next round of Dogfish Head 120 Minute hits shelves in April, 2017.  If your state can’t sell it, call your local politician. He or she is killing your future beer buzz.

Their first New England IPA: Slumbrew Big Kid’s Table

Slumbrew Big Kid’s Table debuts on Friday, March 31st.

Somerville Brewing, makers of Slumbers and incidentally based in Somerville, Massachusetts, its finally releasing a New England style IPA. The beer is intentionally left hazy, resulting in juicy and slightly creamy India pale ale.

Finally jumping on board the haze train, Slumbrew Big Kid’s Table will join the brewery’s lineup on March 31st.

The Veil Brewing Old Lions makes another appearance

The Veil Brewing Old Lions Imperial IPA is back in action today.

This “hopped to heck” imperial India pale ale features Amarillo, Simcoe, and Motueka hops. The last canning of this hop bomb was in December, 2016.

16 ounce cans will be available when the brewery opens on Tuesday, March 28th for a limited time, alongside a new gose brewed with Hawaiian Punch.
