Pipeworks & Emporium Arcade Bar Team Up for Epic Back to the Future Release

Chicago’s Emporium Arcade Bar and Pipeworks Brewing have teamed to create a special offering for Back to the Future day. In case you have no idea what I’m talking about – the Back to the Future, Marty McFly heads to October 21, 2015 in future Hill Valley, California.

As for the beer, meet Pipeworks & Emporium Twin Pines Mall Imperial IPA. Brewed with spruce tips and wildflower honey. Twin Pines Mall is the mall Marty met Doc at when he first met the Delorean. (Hopefully, none of this needs explanation.) Emporium tells Beer Street Journal that they chose Twin Pines, even though Marty kills one of the trees in the past turning it into Lone Pine Mall, because they wanted o make it imperial IPA. (AKA, Twin.)

“Get your DeLorean up to 88 MPH because Pipeworks & Emporium are taking you Back To The Brew-ture. For Twin Pines Mall we fueled the Flux Capacitor with 1.21 Jigawatts of spruce tips & wild flower honey. The future is now so drink up before you’re OUTATIME. Great Scott!”

Stone 24 Carrot Golden Ale is coming to the brewery’s Collaboration Series. This release features Monkey Paw Pub and Brewery, and American Homebrewers Association winner, Juli Goldenberg.

Hot on the heels of Points Unknown IPA, Stone 24 Carrot Golden Ale is inspired by carrot cake. The liquid ode to cake is based as Belgian golden ale, with two key ingredients – 20 pounds of golden raisins  and grated carrots.

Beet juice was also added to help with the carrot cake color. If you’ve had carrot cake before, the icing is a just as important as the cake itself. Goldenberg added lactose during the boil, and vanilla beans post fermentation.

Green Flash Hand Shake IPA, a Collaboration with Alpine

Green Flash Hand Shake IPA is coming out off the recent merger with Alpine Beer Co.

About a year ago, Green Flash Brewing “acquired’ Alpine Beer Co., in a deal that has seen Alpine’s beers brewed and distributed through Green Flash. This acquisition is a craft acquiring craft move, instead of a big brewery buying out the smaller one.

Enter Green Flash Hand Shake IPA. A co-brew, born out of the friendship and business relationship of the two breweries. If you know the duo, then you already know the beer has to be a hoppy one.

Hand Hake IPA is a commemorative collaboration beer brewed to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Green Flash and Alpine Brewing Company union. Brewmasters Pat and Shawn Mcilhenney and Chuck Silva combined peers to create an IPA worth of sharing with good friends. Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, and El Dorado hops create a fresh, orange, peppery flavor with an earthy bitter finish. So delicious, let’s toast to a beautiful friendship.

Green Flash Hand Shake IPA is a 22 ounce bottle offering, not yet announced by the brewery.

Style: IPA
Hops: Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado

Availability: 22oz Bottle, Draft.
