Spotlight: Tallgrass Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat

Tallgrass Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat is a part of the brewery’s Explorer Series. It might be our favorite in the bunch. You’ll hate us for this, but it’s not in season right now.

The Manhattan, Kansas brewery has taken their oatmeal cream stout Buffalo Sweat, and created variants, including Bourbon Barrel Aged Buffalo Sweat, and is sexy can, Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat. That cream stout is enhanced by cinnamon, bourbon (from the barrel-aging, and of course – vanilla beans.

While this is a seasonal that comes out at the end of the year, (and well – it’s June now), do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for Buffalo Sweat, Bourbon Barrel Aged Buffalo Sweat, and this vanilla edition. It’s dessert in a can. Great by itself, or with ice cream. Or pizza. You chose.

Style: Milk Stout (w/ Vanilla Beans, Cinnamon, Lactose. Barrel Aged. Bourbon.)

Availability: 12oz Cans. Limited Seasonal,

Monday Night Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt [Released]

Monday Night Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt launches Atlanta, Georgia based brewery’s “Clip-On Series” lineup.

The Clip-On Series is a side project for Monday Night, taking one of the brewery’s tried and true offerings and switching it up a bit. The first release was Serrano Eye Patch Ale, followed by Blood Orange Blind PirateSoon, a cinnamon cocoa spin on their scotch ale Drafty Kilt will grace the series.

Cinnamon is a versatile spice. You can stir it into oatmeal , add it to chili, and even snort it (not recommend). We thought we’d add it to our already delicious Drafty Kilt as a special treat. The addition of cocoa nibs makes this treat even more indulgent. Refined notes of spice and dark chocolate abound, making this beer perfect for a cold winter (week)night.

Monday Night Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt is a draft, and12 ounce bottle offering.

Avery Pump[KY]n, Batch 2, returns November 8th

Avery Pump[KY}n, Batch 2, returns to the brewery’s lineup on November 8, 2015.

Avery’s Barrel Aged Series is damn near legendary, featuring sours alongside bourbon imperial stouts. Avery PumKYn, a compliment to the the slightly boozier Avery Rumpkin, is a Kentucky bourbon barrel aged porter with a smattering of fall spices. The 2015 edition’s alcohol by volume is 15%.

What’s in a name? Sometimes the simplest can be the most descriptive, and in this case, derisive and divisive! After much internal debate (ad nauseum! Bourb[KY]n, anyone?), we decided a single letter change was the best way to embody the bourbon barrel-aging that adds layers of complexity to an already exquisitely spiced pumpkin porter.

Avery PumKYn will be available in 12oz bottles and draft at the brewery on the 8th, limited distribution found below.

Style: Porter (w/ Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Allspice, Clove, Pumpkin. Barrel Aged. Bourbon.)
