Rare Offering: Great Divide Barrel Ages Choco Yeti

A rare sighting coming to a select few this Valentine’s Day. Great Divide will tap a bourbon barrel aged edition of Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti.  This particular Yeti is an imperial stout with cocoa nibs, a dash of cayenne and aged in oak. Throw it in a Jim Beam barrel and you have a rare treat even a jilted lover on greeting card day could fall in love with.

Find this creature at the brewery’s tap room in Denver, Colorado on V-Day, 2013.

Troeg’s First Infuz-o-Matic Creation – Scratch 88

The first beer to be infused using Tröeg’s Brewing’s (Hershey, PA)  “Infüz-O-Matic” will be Scratch #88. Slated to launch just in time for Valentine’s Day, this stout will be infused with 4lbs of cocoa nibs, 2 lbs of cocoa posder, 30 vanilla beans and copious amounts of hops per barrel.

Drink Like an Oompa Loompa with Fat Head’s Choco Cream

Want to drink like an Oompa Loompa? You will in February. Those little helpers at Fat Heads Brewery (Middleburg Heights, OH) will release Oompa Loompa Chocolate Cream Stout.  You can probably guess – this scrumdiddilyumptious beers is brewed with Belgian dark chocolate and Madagascar Vanilla Beans. Pleasing to those with both a sweet tooth, and a booze tooth. (Is that a thing?)

Oompa Loompa Chocolate Cream Stout is the golden ticket to luscious indulgence. Brewed in small batches with Belgian Dark Chocolate and  Madagascar Vanilla Beans to yield giant aromas and flavors of dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel and vanilla with a creamy mouthfeel and bittersweet finish. All other stouts seem dwarfed by comparison. This is one

Cigar City & B. Nektar Create “Camp Braggot Ghost Stories”

Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, FL) recently opened a Cider & Mead division of the brewery. Meet the first collaboration – Camp Braggot Ghost Stories. teaming up with B. Nektar Meadery (Ferndale, MI) the team has created a lager/mead hybrid, with a host of ingredients, including coconut, cacao nibs, tea, and oak chips.

Scary things live in the dark. Full of unknown ghosts and ghouls. Surprises behind every tree. It might scare you, or it might make you laugh, but it’ll break eery preconceived notion you may have.
