Saint Arnold 5 O’clock Pils debuts in cans

Saint Arnold 5′ O Clock Pils debuts in cans this month. The Houston, Texas based brewery believes some the greatest beers are born out of the simplest recipes.

Saint Arnold 5 O’clock Pils is indeed simple, at least in recipe. This new release is created with just Saaz noble hops, and pilsner malt. Part of the mash is for this beer is decocted, meaning some mash was removed, boiled and added back to the mash. This method allows the malt flavor to really shine in the finished beer.

The final, unfiltered beer has a light maltiness, a big refreshing bitter and wonderful, delicate hop flavor and aroma. This is the beer we enjoy every year in the Czech Republic when doing our Saaz hop selection. Only, we’ve added even more hops. It is a beer that can be enjoyed everyday of the year. You will never tire of it.

Saint Arnold 5 O’clock Pils debuts on April 11th in 12oz ounce cans, year-round.

Style: Pilsner
Hops: Saaz

Availability: 12oz Cans. Year-Round

Creature Comforts The King’s Ransom, a collab with Other Half

Creature Comforts The King’s Ransom, a collaboration with Brooklyn, New York’s Other Half Brewing, has been canned.

The Athens, Georgia based brewery has been teasing the collaboration for weeks on social media. The King’s Ransom is a Baltic porter, which stylistically is a higher in alcohol, more robust porter (when comparing to traditional English styles.)

“Creature Comforts is well-versed in lager brewing because of our experience dialing in the Bibo recipe over the course of a few years now, and Other Half is very versatile when it comes to recipe creation. So they brought a wealth of knowledge on flavor development. – Adam Beauchamp, Co-Founder, Brewmaster”

Distribution was not mentioned by Creature Comforts. The beer will available at the brewery and select events around Atlanta and Athens, Georgia starting April 8th, 2016.

Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin cans ship

Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin cans are now shipping from the San Diego, California based brewery.

Sculpin IPA, the brewery’s leading IPA, has two other bottled siblings – Grapefruit Sculpin, and Habanero Sculpin.

Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin combines the aggressive but balanced IPA with the tropical twist of pineapple. Bottles and draft started shipping in January of this year.

Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish.

Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin IPA is a draft, and 12 ounce bottle and 12 ounce can offering.

Style: IPA (w/ Pineapple)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, 12 oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: March, 2016 (Cans)
