Three Taverns Rapturous (raspberry sour) finally canned

Three Taverns Rapturous, an early entry in the brewery’s Sour Asylum Series, is being canned for the first time today.

Rapturous is a fruited variation of Three Taverns Sour Asylum #4, the fourth edition of the brewery’s lactobacillus kettle soured beers. The 100% pilsner malt beer was finished with California ale yeast.

Three Taverns Rapturous is aged on fresh raspberry puree, for a fruit forward finish (personally, one of our favorite beers made by the Decatur, Georgia based brewery).

Rapturous will be available in 12 ounce cans, and is already available on draft. Later this month, the brewery debuts A Night on Ponce as their second can release.

Style: American Wild/Sour Ale (w/ Raspberries)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Debut (Cans): TBA

Founders PC Pils debuts this fall. 15 packs.

Founders PC Pils will join the brewery’s seasonal lineup this fall. Lighter beers are in demand.

Instead of the widely used noble hops found in so many pilsners, Founder PC Pils uses American varieties, including Chinook, Centennial, and Cascade. PC Pilsner was recently made available on tap at the brewery.

For the first time since All Day IPA, the Founders will release a new 15 pack can format, for an estimated retail price of $17.99. (About $1.19 per can.)

Pleasantly crisp, perfectly clean and profoundly crushable, PC pills is our take on the classic Pilsner style. While Noble hops have been the preferred choice of Pilsner brewers around the world, we went with some of our favorite American varieties. Piney Chinook, pleasantly citrus Cascade and punchy Centennial make this an easy drinker with floral hop characteristics. Pretty cool If you ask us.

Founders PC Pils joins the Grand Rapids, Michigan based brewery’s lineup in 12 ounce, 12 ounce cans and draft, starting in mid-September.

Style: Pilsner
Hops: Chinook, Centennial, Cascade

Availability: 12oz Cans, 12oz Bottles, Draft. September-October.
Debut: Mid-September, 2016

5.5% ABV, 45 IBUs

Burial Surf Wax IPA finds cans for the first time

Burial Surf Wax IPA will be available for the first time in cans this weekend.

The hoppy offering has been available for a while on draft year-round at the brewery in Asheville. As the brewery expands their canned lineup, the time has come to promote it to cans.

Simply made with Golden Promise and Crystal 120 malts, this West Coast-styled IPA is packed with copious amounts of Nelson Sauvin and Columbus hops to provide a heady, danky bite. We then dry hopped with more than 2lbs per barrel to give it a more robust aroma.

Burial Surf Wax IPA will release alongside Burial’s collaboration with New York’s Other Half Brewing on August 6th, 2016.

Style: IPA
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Debut (Cans): 8/6/16

6.5% ABV

Avery Chai High is an exotic, spicy fall release

Avery Chai High will soon join the Boulder, Colorado brewery’s fall seasonal lineup.

As the name suggests, Avery Chai High is brewed with chai tea. Despite trying this new beer, we still don’t know what the base beer actually is.

Mediate on this transcendent, rich, and robust spiced seasonal of a decidedly different sort.

This release has a very exotic flavor. The beer tastes creamy, with strong notes of black tea and ginger, with a touch of clove and cinnamon. In a sea of fall lagers, this one will be a standout.

Avery Chai High is a 12 ounce can and draft seasonal offering starting in August.

Style:          (w/ Ginger, Various Spices,  Chai Tea)
Hops: Bullion, Columbus, Sterling, Hersbrucker
Malts: 2-Row, Chocolate Malt, Munich, Honey, C-120

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Release: August, 2016

5.2% ABV

Avery El Gose joined the brewery’s canned lineup in July.
