Red Brick Brother Leo Joining Brick Mason Series

Red Brick Brewing (Atlanta, GA) is getting ready to release the next offering in the Brick Mason Series – Brother Leo. Leo is the follow up to recently released Three Bagger Tripel, aged in Cruzan rum barrels.

Many of the Brick Mason offerings are barrel aged, however Brother Leo won’t. As the brewery tells Beer Street Journal – “No barrel aging, but there are some badass hops in this one, like Amarillo, Falconer’s Flight, Chinook, Australian Summer, and Magnum.”

Rehearse your Gregorian chants, don your monastic habits and take your vows to the lost order of Brother Leo, devoted to the solitary contemplation of the ancient brew mysteries. Terrapin Midnight Monk Joining Monster Tour

A brew day is coming up this summer to finalize the recipe for Terrapin Midnight Monk Black India Pale Ale, slated to be released in September. Monk will join the Monster Beer Tour this year in place of previous Monster Beer Tour member Big Hoppy Monster. 

Midnight Monk is an black IPA brewed with a Belgian yeast to create a full flavored beer worth of the Monster Beer Tour Series.

Take off your robe and slip into the night to get one step closer to the Holy Grail of all beers. “Midnight Monk” Belgian-Style Black IPA will have your senses juggling all the complex flavor and aroma this beer have to offer.

The 2014 Monster Beer Tour will include Hopzilla, Wake-n-Bake and new Rye Cubed.

Southern Tier’s New Big Bottle

Southern Tier Brewing (Lakewood, NY) has a new Belgian-style IPA coming your way. Tier de Garde celebrates the teamwork of tandem biking, or for that matter, tandem drinking, with a hoppy offering with grapefruit peel.

Being on the street at bicycle pace is an experiential way of seeing the world. All senses are tuned. Every revolution moves the rider closer to the destination. Pedaling with friends is a social event and an exercise in teamwork. Similarly, the ingredients in the bottle work together to reach an end. This big bottle is an easy invitation to raise a glass in celebration. 

You’ll find Southern Tier Tier de Garde in big bottles for easy sharing. Tier’s artwork falls in line with two other recent releases by the brewery – Sonnet, and Grand Arbor.

Terrapin Monk’s Belgian Black IPA This Year

Around September of 2014, expect Terrapin Beer Co (Athens, GA) to release Monk’s Belgian Black IPA into their Monster Beer Tour.

There aren’t a whole lot of details about the recipe, as the brewing team is going to be tweaking the beer between now and brew day in the Summer sometime.

The 2014 Monster Beer Tour will include Hopzilla, Wake-n-Bake and new Rye Cubed.

Previous Monster Beer Tour member Big Hoppy Monster (seen above) has been retired.
