So long Dippin Dots, this is the drink of the future. The self chilling beverage can is real. The technology is called Microchillâ„¢, and involves a pressurized CO2 chamber. Essentially, the thirsty individual will pull the tab, and the CO2 escapes the can rapidly. As the gas expands, it pulls in the heat from the liquid in the can, dropping it’s temperature by up to 30 degrees.
The ChillCan will first be used for West Coast Chill, an energy drink. However, as you can probably imagine – there are some pretty serious beer implications afoot.
