Boulevard Tequila Barrel Lime Gose cans coming in February

Boulevard Tequila Barrel Lime Gose was a hit last year on draft. In 2018 the brewery bottled the release for the first time, and now in 2019 – cans.

In mid-2016, Kansas City-based Boulevard Brewing acquired freshly emptied tequila barrels. After a style debate on what would go into the wood the brewery settled on a German-style gose.

Aged with fresh limes, Boulevard Tequila Barrel Lime Gose smells of oak and vanilla. According to Boulevard:

Pouring deep golden in color, Tequila Barrel Lime Gose presents aromas of oak, vanilla and caramelized banana with bright lime character transitioning to subtle tequila notes and coconut.

Boulevard Tequila Barrel Lime Gose is available in 12-ounce cans and draft across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint starting in February 2019.

Terrapin Liquid Bliss (chocolate peanut butter porter) returns

Terrapin Liquid Bliss, the brewery’s chocolate peanut butter porter is making a return this year.

Some of you might remember this peanut buttery release as Terrapin Side Project #14 from 2014.

The cocoa nibs are the same found in Moo-Hoo from Olive & Sinclair in Nashville, Tennessee. Combine that with peanut butter powder, and dessert is served. A powdered form of peanut butter is used because fats and oils from regular peanut butter would make the beer oily, and flat when you pour it.

The brewery is releasing about 800 barrels across their entire market, making it a fairly limited release.

Terrapin Liquid Bliss is available in 12-ounce cans and draft.

3000 pounds of peaches: Odell Tree Shaker Imperial Peach IPA

Odell Tree Shaker Imperial Peach IPA makes a 2019 appearance this month in 12-ounce cans.

3000 pounds of pureed Colorado peaches take a leading role in Odell Tree Shaker Imperial Peach IPA. This limited release Imperial IPA is big on both citrus and peach flavors. It may not be spring, but the brewery brews something that reminds you of warmer days.

Tree Shaker is an Imperial Peach IPA. Brewed with local peaches for a subtle sweetness, this Imperial IPA has roots right here in Colorado. Familiar citrusy hop notes balanced with sweet local peaches give this style a playful little shake.

The first taste of Tree Shaker can be had Friday, January 11th. Look for 12-ounce cans and draft in distribution shortly after.

Bell’s Hopslam 2019 returns today. Here’s the shipping schedule

Bell’s Hopslam returns again for 2019 starting today. Below are all the details you’ll need to get your annual hoppy fix.

Starting in 2016, the Comstock, Michigan based brewery started shipping Hopslam in cans for the first time, and dropping Hopslam bottles from the lineup.

This year, the 1.32-gallon mini-kegs, aka the “hangover maker” will also hit shelves in limited quantities.

Bell’s Hopslam is an imperial IPA brewed with Michigan honey, easily ranking among one of the brewery’s most popular releases. The Double IPA will start shipping in waves beginning the first week of January to their home state of Michigan, then to the rest of their distribution area.

January 2nd: Bell’s Eccentric Cafe.

Monday Night Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt, part of the brewery’s special Black Tie Series, is back in cans ahead of the holidays. 

It was 2013 when Atlanta, Georgia first saw Bourbon Barrel-Aged Drafty Kilt. The brewery took their year-round scotch ale Drafty Kilt and aged it in fresh Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. The result won Monday Night a gold at the Great American Beer Festival.

In 2017, Monday Night decided to can Black Tie Series BBA Drafty Kilt, of which series has seen new siblings like Cardigans of the Galaxy, Space Lettuce, Piranha Dealer and Don’t Call it Hotlanta. “It’s full-bodied, slightly smoky and sweet character lends itself perfectly to Kentucky bourbon barrels. Our first batch blew people away, so we decided to make it an annual holiday tradition,” says brewery co-founder Jonathan Baker.

Monday Night Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt is available in 12-ounce cans and draft for a limited time starting November 19th.

Old Bust Head Barrel Aged Gold Cup Imperial Stout is one of the brewery’s best

Old Bust Head Barrel Aged Gold Cup Imperial Stout returns to the brewery on October 13th, one of only a handful of times this beer has been bottled.

On a recent trip to Virginia, we discovered Old Bust Brewing, tucked away from the countryside of Vint Hill, Virginia. You’d think a brewery that seems off the beaten path would boast a standard lineup of IPAs and pale ales on tap. This is where we found Barrel Aged Gold Cup and its badass lineup of variants.

The base Russian imperial stout is fantastic. Boozy, roasty, velvety with a touch of chocolate and espresso. Barrel Aged Gold Cup is a barrel-aged dream. Bittersweet chocolate and strong coffee flavors melt perfectly against the oaky vanilla bourbon barrels.

The brewery regulars are already clued into this beer’s reputation. The last release sold out in a matter of hours.

Old Bust Head Barrel Aged Gold Cup will be available in bottles once again on Saturday, October 13th in 16.9-ounce bottles. Start making some friends in Virginia.
