4 Styles, 100% Real Fruit. Schlafly Frugi-Four ships

Saint Louis, Missouri’s Schlafly Beer has released new Frugi-Four Sampler Pack.

The fruit-forward mixed case showcases the brewery’s commitment to using real fruit. Four different styles have been selected to ring in the warmer weather: Passionfruit Saison, Pineapple IPA, Tangerine Lager, and a revival of last April’s Coconut Creme Ale.

“From our seasonal Raspberry Hefeweizen to our fall seasonal Pumpkin Ale, we’re proud of our expertise in brewing with real ingredients. This pack captures the spirit of a frugivore, a fruit-eating mammal that depends on the nutritional value of fruit. These fun, bright flavors for summer showcase how fruit beer can fit any style from Saisons to IPAs.” – Stephan Hale, Founding Brewer

The Schlafly Frugi-Four Sampler Pack features three 12-ounce bottles of each style, available in distribution starting April 23rd.

Full Sail Sesión Negra Mexican Style Lager joins Session Series of beers

Full Sail Sesión Negra Mexican Style Lager has debuted in bottles and draft, joining the brewery’s Session family of beers.

The Session lineup of beers gained a Mexican-style lager, Sesión Cervesa, in March of 2017. The crisp lager features pilsner malt and flaked corn. You just add the sunshine.

Full Sail Sesión Negra Mexican Style Lager hits shelves to complement their lighter offering. The garnet colored Mexican lager boasts flavors of “maize and caramel”.

“It’s not a porter, and it’s very different from Session Dark.” And like every Session, Sesión Negra is brewed to go down easy and put a smile on your face. – Full Sail Brewmaster Greg Doss.

Full Sail Sesión Negra Mexican Style Lager is available in 11-ounce bottles and draft.

Style: Lager
Availability: 11oz Bottles, Draft.
Debut: April 2018

Hi-Wire Tropical Fruit Golden Ale heads to full distribution this month.

This 11.3% alcohol by volume strong ale is brewed with Citra hops and a hefty amount of Guava, papaya, and mango during secondary fermentation.

This high octane beer is deceptively drinkable, allowing big fruit flavors to mask the heat of this dank & sticky beer that does not taste anywhere near 11.3%

Hi-Wire Tropical Fruit Golden Ale is available in 12-ounce bottles, and draft across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.

French red wine oak barrel aged Lost Abbey Amazing Grace on sale Friday

Lost Abbey Amazing Grace will go on sale Friday.

From time to time, Lost Abbey receives French oak barrels that once contained red wine. The brewery sees this as a perfect opportunity to age their Belgian-style Dubbel – Lost & Found. The abbey ale, brewed with raisins, has been aging “gracefully” in the French Oak barrels until the time is right.

RELATED: PORT NELSON THE GREETER CANS SHIP

Amazing Grace shows hints of soft oak tannins and light vanilla notes from the oak barrels. A subtle dash of red wine character from the aging process reveals itself if the beer is served on at cellar temperature and compliments the roasted malt character of the base beer.

Lost Abbey Amazing Grace is sold at a ticketed online event on Friday, March 23rd at 12 noon (PST). Bottles are $41 dollars each, limit of 3 per customer. No proxies (you have the be the one purchasing and picking up).

Style: Belgian-style Dubbel (w/ Raisins. Red Wine Barrel Aged.)
Availability: 750ml Bottles. Extremely Limited.
Latest Release: March 2018

Nude surfing spot inspires Port Brewing Nelson the Greeter

Port Brewing Nelson the Greeter is the latest hoppy offering by the San Marcos, California based brewery.

Apparently named for a well-known clothing optional surf spot, Port Brewing Nelson The Greeter features Denali, Lemondrop, Mosaic and of course – Nelson Sauvin hops. In 2017, the brewery added Nelson into the recipe and loved the bold tropical fruit flavors it produced, prompting a second release of this beer.

Notes of Gooseberry and passion fruit dominate the nose with clean tangerine and freshly cut stone fruit notes leading to a smooth bitter citrus finish.

Port Brewing Nelson The Greeter is available both at the brewery and across Port’s distribution network in late March 2018.

Style: IPA
Hops: Denali, Lemondrop, Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic

Availability: 16oz Cans, Draft
