Left Hand Taps in Western PA

Left Hand Brewing Company is officially entering Western Pennsylvania. Starting today, May 5, the greater Pittsburgh area will get Milk Stout alongside the rest of Left Hand’s lineup.

The brewery has partnered with Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale Co to extend their distribution presence. Left Hand’s perennial line and Nitro series featuring: Milk Stout & Milk Stout Nitro, Sawtooth Ale & Sawtooth Nitro, as well as 400 Pound Monkey IPA, Black Jack Porter, Polestar Pilsner, Stranger Pale Ale, and Left Hand’s variety pack, Mountain Mixer.

Left Hand has recently entered upstate New York, Maryland, and Washington D.C. Iowa is in planning this fall, and California is on the radar. The brewery is on pace for 85,000 barrels in 2014.

Founders Adds Arizona

Founders Brewing Co. announced today their plans to expand distribution to Arizona.

The brewery has signed a distribution deal with Hensley & Company to distribute all across the Grand Canyon State.  

“Arizona is our first truly western state of distribution,” said Co-Founder and CEO Mike Stevens. “There are a lot of Michigan natives in Arizona, and it’s a state with a developing craft beer scene, so it made sense for us to open it this spring.”

The first shipment occurs on the week of April 21st. The brewery’s year round and seasonal offerings in draft and bottle.

April will be a busy month for Founders. Five states will finally have the lineup, including Arizona, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

By May, 2014, Founders will be in 32 states.

Bell’s To Ship to SoCal

Bell’s Brewery will begin shipping to southern California in May, 2014. SoCal marks the 20th state that Bell’s distributes to.

The brewery has selected Craft Beer Guild Distributing of California to distribute their entire portfolio to San Diego and surrounding areas.

“These two counties will help us establish ourselves while making sure the needs of our existing customers are met,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

The addition of California comes after the addition of New York City in February, and Upstate New York last year. Bell’s distributes as far west as Arizona.

New Holland Announces Tennessee

New Holland Brewing (Holland, MI) will be shipping to Tennessee starting in mid-March. The brewery has signed a distribution agreement with Nashville-based Lipman Brothers.

Initial releases include year round offerings Mad Hatter IPA, Sundog Amber Ale, Full Circle Kolsch, Monkey King Saison, The Poet Oatmeal Stout, and Dragon’s Milk Barrel-aged Imperial Stout.

“We’re heading down to some fun launch events in Nashville and Knoxville first, with Chattanooga to follow shortly” says New Holland National Accounts Manager for Beer, Clay Cooper. “We look forward to planning Memphis for later in the year.”

New Holland will also distribute some of their spirits lineup, including Beer Barrel Bourbon, Knickerbocker Gin, and Hatter Royale Hopped Whiskey.

Seasonals for both lines will follow as they become available.

Rare Blackberry Farm Brewery Launches in Georgia

Blackberry Farm Brewery is officially launching in Georgia today. Blackberry Farm is a Relais & Château luxury resort nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Blackberry Farm is actually home to a series of artisanal food and drink, including a beekeeper, butcher, cheese maker, and of course a brewery. Until now, the beers were only available at Blackberry Farm, Sean Brock’s Hush in Nashville, Tennesee.

Launch lineup includes (Click each for more):

Classic Saison (6% ABV): a medium-bodied, Belgian-style farmhouse ale with earthy and floral hop aromas.

Farm Ale (5.4% ABV): a session beer that balances malt sweetness with notes of fruit and noble hops.

Screaming Cock (6% ABV): a dark amber Dubbel with rich malt characteristics and hints of dried fruit and chocolate.

Starting today, you can get Blackberry Farm’s offerings at Atlanta’s H&F Bottle Shop, and Hop City, starting at 4 pm.

Blackberry Farms is located in Walland, Tennessee.

New Belgium Adds Second Canadian Province

New Belgium Brewing will pick up a second Canadian province,  Alberta, Canada on February 24, 2014. The brewery entered British Columbia in September of last year.

First offerings will include flagship Fat Tire, plus Ranger IPARampant, Snapshot Wheat, and select Lips of Faith offerings will arrive around 90 days later.  Horizon Beers will be New Belgium’s distribution partner.

“British Columbia was our first market outside the U.S., and we’ve obviously learned a lot about beer sales in Canada since rolling out there,” said Rich Rush, Regional Sales Director with New Belgium Brewing. “There are some great emerging craft beer markets in Alberta, and we’re excited to be introducing our brews to the craft beer enthusiasts there.

New Belgium will be entering the state of Mississippi. On March 3rd, 2014. That is state #37 on their conquest for all 50.

Kentucky & Hawaii are poised for New Belgium’s lineup this year. Announcements to follow.

Hangar 24 Craft Brewery will now be available across Arizona thanks to Golden Eagle Distributors.

Initial lineup includes Orange Wheat, Amarillo Pale Ale, Alt-Bier Ale, Helle Lager, Columbus IPA, Chocolate Porter, and Double IPA. In addition, look for seasonal offerings from the Local Field Series, and Barrel Roll Series.

Arizona joins current distribution areas of Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Hangar 24 Craft Brewery was founded 2008.
