SweetWater Brewing Headed to Ohio

Back in April at SweetWater Brewing Company’s (Atlanta) 420 Fest, founder Freddy Bensch hinted at the brewery distributing to Ohio.

While SweetWater wants to remain pretty much a southeastern brewery (for now?), Bensch’s wife Jen is from the Buckeye State. (Remember Brown-eyed Buckeye from the Dank Tank Series?)

The brewery will be making a formal announcement to follow. Typically, SweetWater will stagger the the rollout across the state over time.

Distribution to start in September, 2014.

Green Flash Headed to Hawaii

Green Flash Brewing (San Diego, CA) is headed to Hawaii later this summer.

Currently, we don’t have a finalized date, but the distributor of record is Paradise Beverages Inc. (Par Bev). By August, islanders will be sipping Palate Wrecker, among other offerings. 

By our calculations, that places Green Flash in 49 states, with only Utah left to go.

Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Adds 8 States

Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. (Lexington, KY) has just expanded into Texas, New Mexico and New Hampshire. Soon the brewery and distillery will ship to Pennsylvania, South Carolina, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

All in all, by fall 2014, Alltech will ship to 25 states.

 Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. has amped up production, adding new equipment, including a larger, faster bottling line. Particularly experienced in barrel aging, the company’s brewers regularly age 3,000 to 5,000 barrels at a time in the brewery’s large cold storage warehouse, and handle up to 1,000 barrels per week.

All states will get over time, Kentucky Ale, Kentucky Kölsch, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout, and Kentucky IPA, with most of the focus on Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Seasonals to include Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Barleywine and Kentucky Peach Barrel Wheat.

SweetWater Flows in Memphis

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) officially taps in Memphis this week. The brewery has been making its way across Tennessee this year.

Launching in Elvis Presley’s home city is 420 Extra Pale, SweetWater IPA, SweetWater Blue, and the Tackle Box, featuring new Take Two Pils.

“We’ve had our hands full expanding the brewery while simultaneously launching our new can line and conditioning process,” said SweetWater Founder and Big Kahuna Freddy Bensch. “With that under our belts, we’re finally at a place where we feel we’ve ramped up production enough to move further West and bring Memphibians the brews they’ve been training for!”

The brewery signed a distribution deal with Budweiser of Memphis for distribution. Launch events run all week. SweetWater can now be found in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Louisiana and Virginia.

New Holland Launches in New England

New Holland Brewing Company (and Distillery) will be launching their lineup in New England beginning mid-June. Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island are the targeted launch states. 

“We’re heading east to some fun launch events in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island” says New Holland Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Fred Bueltmann. “We’re looking forward to getting out there, meeting people and bringing some great flavors from the Midwest to our craft brothers and sisters in New England.”
 
Distribution will be handled through L. Knife & Son companies. Since New Holland has a diverse lineup, go HERE to see which state is getting what.

Almanac To Ship To Colorado

Almanac Beer Company will begin distributing to Colorado starting in mid-June.

Distribution will be handled through Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project‘s distribution efforts.

Over the last year at SF Beer Week and GABF, our mutual love and respect for wild yeasts and funk brought us together and made us fast friends. We knew Crooked Stave would be the perfect distribution partner for bringing Almanac to the Mile High City, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and everything in between!

Launch beers will include: Farmer’s Reserve Blackberry, Dogpatch Strawberry, Almanac IPA, Golden Gate Gose, and Ichibier.

SanTan Brewing Headed to Texas

SanTan Beer Company (Chandler, Arizona) is entering the Texas market in June. The brewery has partnered with Ben. E. Keith distributor.

SanTan was founded in 2007, and expects to brew 25,000 barrels (775,000 gallons) in 2014.
