Want 15 minutes of fame? How about $500 dollars? Victory Brewing is holding a video contest that could give you both…
From Victory:
We want to see what amazing things you can do when you’re Inspired by Victory. Submit a video up to two minutes in length featuring your favorite Victory beer, and showing us the fantastical feats that those special suds inspire. Does Victory spark you to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Speak in verse? Bust a move? Release your inner Golden Monkey? Do a backflip without spilling a drop of beer? Whatever it is, we want to see it and be inspired by you.
Your video must feature at least one brand of Victory beer, be no longer than two minutes in length and include only people 21 years of age and older. E-mail your video to [email protected]. We will put it up on our contest page where you will get your 15+ minutes of fame and a shot at $500.
Winners will ultimately be selected by a panel of Victory judges but comments and popularity of your video will be considered when selecting the winner. Once we post your video, it’s up to you to get your friends, their friends, their friends’ friends and your friend’s cousin’s hairdresser’s brother to comment. The video that impresses our judges and garners the best comments will win $500, a Victory prize pack and the glory of being the winner. Three runners up will also win a Victory prize pack, featuring wearables, glassware and other Victory swag.
Submission deadline is Monday, August 1, and judging/commenting will run through Wednesday, Aug. 24.

“Where ever man has gone, beer has followed.” Why should space be any different. Sabre Aeronautics & Four Pines Brewing out of Sydney, Australia are already working on the first beers in space. A stout recipe has already been designed with humans altered taste buds in mind – Vostok stout. Issues they are overcoming include carbonation (different in a zero grav enviro) and how to keep the beer in the glass… <VostokSpaceBeer>
Derek Jeter got his 3,000 hit last Saturday, which so happened to be a homerun. Christian Lopez caught the ball. The milestone combined with the person who hit it, makes that ball both historical and worth a good bit of money.
Lopez could have kept it, (and made thousands) but returned it to the Yankees instead. In return, the team has showered him with tickets, and jerseys. He even got a 2009 World Series ring. In true bloodsucking style, the IRS is coming after Lopez for money. The well respected government institution will be billing Lopez somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000 to $14,000 dollars. This on top of a mound of student loans he already has.
Miller High Life has stepped forward, stating they will cover Christian Lopez’s tax bill.
Miller High Life believes you should be rewarded for doing the right thing, not penalized,” Miller High Life brand manager Brendan Noonan said in a statement. “We want to recognize Christian Lopez, and in turn everyone like him, for doing the common sense thing and help him continue to live the High Life.
Let’s hope the IRS doesn’t tax the tax assistance. <ESPN>
