Terrapin Mosaic cans return

Terrapin Mosaic started at Side Project #19. The beer, along with the rising popularity of the Mosaic hop, prompted the brewery to re-release it in 12oz bottles.

Terrapin Mosaic Red Rye India Pale Ale, the brewery’s third can offering, is shipping once again in January, 2016.

Like a fine piece of art, “Mosaic” Red Rye IPA is masterfully created by using 100% mosaic hops throughout the brew. With it’s a aesthetically pleasing ruby red color and spatial depth from the Rye malt this handcrafted masterpiece leaves your pallets canvas open to interpretation.

Terrapin Mosaic cans join Recreation Ale, and HI-5 IPA in the brewery’s aluminum lineup. Mosaic is seasonally available in 12oz cans/6 packs.

Spotlight: Terrapin Poivre Potion Saison, Side Project Series #25

Over the winter, Beer Street Journal got the unique opportunity to judge Terrapin’s employee brew-off. Each team of employees created not only a recipe, but had to present a skit to the crowd selling the beer. The winner -Terrapin Poivre Potion Saison.

Like other employee brew-off winners, the Terrapin Poivre Potion Saison features pink peppercorns that spices up this saison.

Traditional beers with a twist on their style has been a Terrapin ritual since the beginning. In keep up with traditional, our 2015 employee beer Terrapin Poivre Potion dry hopped imperial pink peppercorn saison, fits the bill. Brewed with pink peppercorns for a complex spice, and dry hopped for some extra aroma , this multifaceted beer will keep you guessing on which flavor comes next.

Terrapin Poivre Potion Saison is available in 22 ounce bottles, a part of the brewery’s Side Project Series.

Beer Street Journal tasting notes: Side Project #25 upscaled nicely from the employee test batch we chose in the competition earlier this year. The saison is very bright, with a strong peppercorn notes. As the dry-hopping name suggests, this saison has a strong hop flavor. A fun one-off lineup addition, for the fans of the Side Project Series releases.

Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo Joins Special Reserve Series

Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo has joined the brewery’s Special Reserve Series.

This edition is based off of Terrapin’s Moo-Hoo Milk Stout, brewed at a higher alcohol by volume, with cocoa nibs, coffee, and vanilla. The nibs come from Nashville, Tennessee’s Olive & Sinclair. (Note, the brewery tells Beer Street Journal they are still finalizing the final recipe.)

Soak up all the flavor in our newest reserve series beer, “Tiramisu-Hoo” Imperial Milk Stout. With all the attributes of a finely executed dessert, we have managed to create a beer  that is layered with all the goodness you would expect from a succulent slice of Italian history.

Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo follows Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler in the series. Look for it in 22 ounce bottles and draft for a limited time.

Terrapin So Fresh & So Green, Green returning in 19.2oz cans

Terrapin So Fresh & So Green, Green releases this month in 19.2oz cans. A first for this beer.

The brewery started contract canning a few years ago with RecreationAle, and last year bought their own canning line and brought the operation in-house. This will be the brewery’s first large format (read: stovepipe, 19.2 ounce size) can.

Terrapin’s “So Fresh and So Green, Green” is a beer that celebrates the hop! Made with freshly picked, whole leaf, “wet” hops, these off-the-vine beauties will encourage you to drink fresh, drink local, and drink now.

Terrapin So Fresh & So Green, Green cans arrive alongside their annual Hop Harvest, on October 24th.

Terrapin Moo Hoo released in cans for the first time

Terrapin Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout is back on shelves again, and new for 2015 – 12 ounce cans.  The creamy sweet offering features cocoa nibs from Olive & Sinclair in Nashville, Tennessee and milk sugar (lactose) for a silky mouthfeel.

The Terrapin “Moo-Hoo” Chocolate Milk Stout proudly uses cocoa nibs and shells from Olive and Sinclair Chocolate Company to give this beer its great taste! An  appetizing cold weather treat this sweet stout is rich creamy and uniquely satisfying. Beer and Chocolate together they truly make one of life’s great indulgences.

Terrapin’s can game is strong in 2015. In addition to Terrapin RecreationAle, and Hi-5 IPA, Hopsecutioner is now available in 12oz and 16oz options. That’s not all either. Terrapin Rye Cubed Back in Monster Beer Tour Lineup

Terrapin Rye-Cubed, the bigger, badder, and boozier version of the brewery’s Rye Squared, is back on the Monster Beer Tour again.

This initial idea was to square the Rye Squared ingredients, that was until they thought about the math. Brewmaster and co-founder “Spike” tells Beer Street Journal:

We were trying to figure out how to cube the ingredients. Basically, we are doubling everything going into Rye Squared. It is big. Very big.

At 10.3% ABV, big is an understatement. Terrapin Rye Cubed will be “destroying palates from Athens to Tokyo” again in July, 2015. Available in 12oz bottles and draft for a limited time.

Terrapin Richland Reserve: New Beer, New Barrel Aged Series

Terrapin Richland Reserve is the launch of not only a new beer, but a new series. The Athens, Georgia based brewery recently partnered with Georgia’s Richland Rum.

Terrapin Richland Reserve starts as 2015 Hopzilla (the beer is now retired) and aged it in Richland Rum barrels for the past year.

A pair of Georgia’s liquid artisans come together by combining two art forms, craft brewing, and craft distilling. Richland Reserve, the first in our “Ales from the Wood” series, is made from vintage 2014 HopZilla “Double IPA” and has been masterfully aged in Richland Rum barrels for over one year.

Terrapin Richland Reserve is a late July, 2015 release in 22oz bottles. No draft available for this release.
