Terrapin RecreationAle, Hopsecutioner Going to 16oz Cans

Terrapin Beer Company (Athens, GA) will get pretty aggressive with their can program in 2015.

Their first canned offering, RecreationAle, will get an upgrade next year – to 16oz cans. The session beer is currently available in 12oz/12 pack cans year round.

Additionally, Hopsecutioner IPA will be available in 16oz can format.

The brewery is moving many seasonals to 12oz cans from bottles next year.

Mosaic is the third can offering, and next release.

Terrapin French Toasted Wake-n-Bake Released [VIDEO]

Terrapin Beer Company (Athens, GA) has just released the fifth offering in their Special Reserve Series- French Toasted Wake n Bake. As the brewery’s robust, coffee-laden imperial stout is hitting shelves for the 10th year, French Toasted W-n-B won’t be far behind, utilizing Athens, Georgia based Jittery Joe’s coffee, plus maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon to make a beer perfect for breakfast.

Breakfast in a bottle returns this year with one of our favorite morning time treats. French toasted w-n-B combines big maple syrup notes, fresh coffee, and hence of vanilla and cinnamon to stand out among the ordinary Imperial Stout. With this much decadence packed into one bottle, this beer will get you back to the table for another round.

 

Terrapin French Toasted W-n-B is now available in 22oz bottles and draft.

Terrapin To Can Moo-Hoo, Maggie’s & Pumpkinfest in 2015

Terrapin Beer Co. (Athens, GA) is making a big change to their in 2015. A few of their seasonal offerings will be released in cans instead of bottles.

To recap – Terrapin launched RecreationAle as their first can offering, followed by Hi-5 IPA.

The canning was initially outsourced to Two Roads Brewing in Connecticut while the brewery tested the sales strength of cans. In July 2014, Terrapin installed their own canning line.

The brewery’s third canned offering will be Mosaic. Coming in 2015, Terrapin will add seasonal favorites, Moo-Hoo (chocolate milk stout), Maggie’s Peach Farmhouse Ale, and Pumpkinfest (Oktoberfest with pumpkin & spices) for a total of six canned offerings.

“We really see cans as a big part of the craft beer industry going forward,” said Terrapin VP of Sales and Marketing Dustin Watts. “We wanted to increase the number of can offerings in our portfolio and felt that our Seasonal Sessions line was a great place to start.”

Terrapin tells Beer Street Journal that W-n-B was also considered, but the timing and demand might not make it feasible in 2015.

Another positive note- all three new can offerings will be available in 12oz, 6 pack cans instead of the current 4 pack, bottle offerings. Price TBD.

Terrapin Beer Company’s (Athens, GA) latest Special Reserve Series release is Moo-hooChiato. Now on shelves.

The brewery took their popular seasonal Moo-Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout that contains Olive & Sinclair cocoa nibs from Nashville, Tennessee, and combined it with locally roasted Jittery Joes coffee. The result? A coffee infused creamy milk stout you don’t want to hold very long.

Terrapin Moo-hooChiato is available in 22oz bombers, capped and waxed.

Style: Milk Stout (w/ Lactose, Coffee, Cocoa Nibs.)
Hops: Nugget, Willamette
Malts: 2-Row Pale, Flaked Oat, Crystal 85, Chocolate, DH Carafa III, Roasted Barley

Sneak Peek: Terrapin’s Sexy New Taproom

Terrapin Beer Company (Athens, GA) needed a stunning tap room. Now they have it. In about a week, the brewery will start giving tours in this sexy new space.

The brewery ripped out the old gift shop, the grain room, front desk, even a conference room and a few offices to create the area you see below. Terrapin’s new tap room has four floating tap towers, a stage, plus more room to roam and hangout. The gift shop has been moved to the far end of this picture.

Terrapin’s tours are held Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. No reservations required.
