New Belgium To Open Pilot Brewery in Denver Hotel

New Belgium Brewing (Fort Collins, CO) has announced the opening of a 10-Barrel pilot brewery, to be located at The Source Hotel, to be located in Denver, Colorado’s River North District.

The pilot brewery will be located on the ground floor of The Source Hotel, with barrel aging on the 8th floor, in a rooftop lounge dubbed “The Woods”.

After 25 years in Ft. Collins, we’re really excited to get more deeply involved in Colorado’s cultural and political capital,” said Jenn Vervier, director of strategy and sustainability at New Belgium. “We’ve long considered creating a Denver location to bring the New Belgium experience to more of our Colorado fans and to the millions of travelers who visit Denver. RiNo is already a vivid scene with a rich art and craft beer culture, and will soon have great access for bikers and walkers. This small batch brewery will allow us to collaborate with The Woods’ chef and mixologists to create innovative beers, drinks, and pairings you can’t get anywhere else. The Source Hotel and the Zeppelin Development team are the perfect fit.”

“The Woods” will include a snack counter, bar, sit-down dining, and a beer garden. Additionally, 8th floor guests and patrons can enjoy a pool and roof deck with mountain and downtown views.

Zeppelin Development, the Denver-based development responsible for  The St. Julien Hotel in Boulder will operate The Source Hotel. Beers created in the 2,000 square foot brewery will be sold at the hotel and expanded market hall.

The Source Hotel is expected to open in 1st quarter 2017.

New Belgium Eric’s Ale Returns to Lips of Faith Series

New Belgium Eric’s Ale makes a return to the brewery’s Lips of Faith Series lineup this month.

New Belgium Eric’s Ale is a sour ale “spiked” with peaches, named for the brewery’s Eric Salazar. To create New Belgium Eric’s Ale, Salazar blended threads of Felix, a sour base beer, and a golden strong ale. (Plus peaches, of course.)

Eric’s Ale pours a hazy golden-orange with subtle fuzzy ripe peach and vanilla aromas. It’s both sweet and tart and finishes warm and crisp. Woody notes are drawn out from the oak foeders to round out this middle-of-the-road sour.

New Belgium Eric’s Ale is now available in 22 ounce bottles and draft, across the brewery’s distribution network.

Style: American Wild/Sour Ale (w/ Peaches, Oak Aged.)
Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft.
