Mikkeller’s newest sour headed stateside – Sour Bitch. A tribute beer to the brewery’s Chicago based friend Kristina, this beer is brewed the lychee fruit (an tropic tree fruit. Sweet & fleshy) & is aged in oak barrels. Imported by Continue Reading →
Mikkeller will be shipping a real session beer stateside this year. Before you get your feathers ruffled, it actually IS a session beer – a mere 2.4% ABV. Drink’in The Sun’s alcohol content has lowered each year. (2 years ago it was 3.9%)
Drink’in is a pale wheat ale and a year round brew for Mikkeller, produced at De Proef in Belgium. Dr. Erikschon (whom I assume is an enthusiast of Mikkeller) has pretty funny commercial about this beer. Check it out.

Cigar City Brewing mentioned via Twitter today that Nielsborium is shipping out. This beer is the 3rd iteration of a collaboration between CC and Mikkeller.
The first 2 editions of the collab are Bohr & (D)irac. Bohr draws it’s name from Continue Reading →

If you weren’t aware, Mikkeller has a series of single hop IPAs. The same base IPA recipe is used, hopped with a different hop.
Back on the shelves again are not only just the 10 – but 9 new single hopped beers for 2011! That’s a total of 19. New labels this year too. The IPAs feature the following hops:
A new one from Mikkeller headed stateside in 2011. Looks like a cross between a quadruple and a sour ale.
The monks are mad, they are raging. They are on their way to punish the one who spiked their sweet quadruple with a blend of sour ale. Psst — it was Mikkeller who did it. Don’t tell the monks!

Cigar City Brewing mentioned via Twitter today that Nielsborium is shipping out. This beer is the 3rd iteration of a collaboration between CC and Mikkeller.
The first 2 editions of the collab are Bohr & (D)irac. Bohr draws it’s name from Neils Bohr, nobel prize physicist. (D)irac is named for Paul Dirac, another physicist and inventor of the “Dirac Equation.” They are sweet imperial stouts brewed with raisins, each will a slightly different flavor profile. This 3rd edition “Nielsbohrium” is a blend of both beers, aged in rum barrels.
[UPDATE 7/28: Due to capacity issues, this beer is on hold in definitely]
Mikkeller is expanding the “Beer Geek” line of beers with “Beer Geek Dessert.”
Beer Geek Dessert is based of the Beer Geek Breakfast imperial stout. In addition to coffee, chocolate & oatmeal flavors – Mikkeller adds cocoa and vanilla bean to the mix.
