Great Divide Preps 19th Anniversary

Things don’t stay the same forever. The 2013 celebration looks to use birch syrup. Birch sap makes a great sweetener for pancakes & waffles, even beer.

Rare Offering: Great Divide Barrel Ages Choco Yeti

A rare sighting coming to a select few this Valentine’s Day. Great Divide will tap a bourbon barrel aged edition of Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti.  This particular Yeti is an imperial stout with cocoa nibs, a dash of cayenne and aged in oak. Throw it in a Jim Beam barrel and you have a rare treat even a jilted lover on greeting card day could fall in love with.

Great Divide Promoting Colette & Nomad to Year Round

Great Divide (Denver, CO) has informed me that Colette, the brewery’s saison and Nomad, a pilsner will become year round offerings in 2013. If my estimates are correct, Nomad debut in early 2012. Colette debuted in 22oz bottles a few years ago, then was upgraded to 12 oz/6 packs.

I am told that Great Divide Brewing (Denver, CO) is going to cut two beers from their lineup. Wild Raspberry Ale (fruit beer) and Samurai (blonde ale with rice). These cuts reflect the new offerings that Great Divide is bringing to the table in 2013 – Orabelle, and HeyDay.

Orabelle is brewed with barley, wheat, oats, and rye. This Belgian-style tripel is a golden beauty. It’s two yeast strains, orange peel, and dash of coriander impart surprising complexity and richness tot his delicate ale. Don’t let Orabelle’s demure nature fool you; this is one flavorful pour. Watch out, she’s a charmer – one sip and you’ll be in love.

Great Divide Heyday Belgain Style White Ale

The above is HEYDAY, a new potential release from Great Divide Brewing Co. (Denver, CO). Perhaps when you’re not out hunting (and drinking) Yetis you can work a witbier into your drinking routine.

HEYDAY is an eminently pleasant pour. Brewed with bailey. oats and raw wheat. HEYDAY is uniquely flavorful for such an easy drinking ale. With a slightly cloudy appearance and traditional yeast, it is a balanced, agreeable offering. Exuding mild hop bitterness and a nuanced body, this is the easiest decision you’ll make all day.
