Founders Pairs with Art Contest For Beer Series

Founders Inspired Artist Black IPAFounders Brewing Company (Grand Rapids, MI) teamed up earlier this year with ArtPrize to be the official brewery sponsor. ArtPrize is an open art contest based in Founders hometown. That’s where this beer, and label come into play. For this year’s competition, Founders is debuting Inspired Artist Black IPA that comes with a very special label.

The artwork first – is Kevin O’Rourke. His artwork has been featured on concert posters for Sonic Youth & Flaming Lips. The beer?  A black IPA. Inspired Artist Black IPA is brewed with black wheat malt and of course a ton of complimentary hops. Look for the debut across Michigan in August. Lovers of craft beer and art can look forward a one of these releases each year.

Founders Rubaeus Arrives in July

For the first time since 2008, Founders Brewing (Grand Rapids, MI) will be bringing back Rubaeus, a raspberry ale. Perfect for the summer months, the fresh raspberry flavor will for sure be hard to put down.

Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

Rubaeus will start shipping in July. Look for it thought August, 2013.

Founders Creates Limited Edition Honey Wheat Beer

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of Grand Rapids Local First Street Party, the brewery has created a special release – Local Hive Honey Wheat.The base beer is an American wheat ale, brewed local honey.  Described as having a mild citrus flavor with a touch of honey sweetness. Limited to local distribution for the First Street Party.

Crossing the Atlantic: Founders Hits the UK

Founders Brewing announced this morning that they will be distributing to the United Kingdom with beer available across the nation beginning in June 2013. Both year-round and season beers will be available in bottles first with draft later in the year. Founders boasts that many of their beers are their own take on classic British styles and are excited to have their Porter, Pale Ale, Centennial IPA, Dirty Bastard, and All Day IPA as the first beers to launch worldwide.

Founders Heads To Florida

Founders Brewing (Grand Rapids, MI) is headed to the Sunshine State. The brewery has signed a deal with Brown Distributing for the whole state. The beer will show up in May.

“Florida has grown tremendously in terms of craft beer savvy and awareness in the past couple of years,” said Co-Founder & CEO Mike Stevens. “Beer enthusiasts have raised the bar in the state, and we’re looking forward to getting our beer to them.” 

Look for the year-round offerings and seasonals first, special releases to follow.

Founders just entered Texas this month, and announced All Day IPA in cans. Below is the actual canning line headed to the brewery.

Founders to Can for the First Time

Today Founders Brewing announced that they will be canning their All Day IPA – a first in the history of the brewery. The 4.7% session beer will now be canned for your drinking pleasure all summer long. Expect to see these 12 oz cans in 12 packs throughout their distribution footprint this summer. All Day IPA will be the only beer Founders will be canning – for now.
