Bell’s Oberon Now Available 12oz Cans

Bell’s Oberon is already available in 16oz cans, and now 12oz cans as well. Just in time for the first wave of oppressive heat are 12 packs of the popular summer wheat ale.

“Cans can go more places than glass and it’s a much more convenient packaging option – we believe our fans will really enjoy this new option,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

Bell’s Oberon is already available in bottles (6 packs, 12 packs), mini-kegs, and 16oz can 4-packs. 12oz cans are now available in 12 packs. Additionally, the brewery recently launched Bell’s new Spigelau glass, designed for wheat beers.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale To Release in 12oz Cans

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, the brewery’s legendary IPA, will roll out in 12oz cans in September, 2015.

Currently, Two Hearted Ale is already available in 12oz bottles, 16oz cans, and draft.

This is something we have been talking about for some time,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale 12oz cans will be distributed nationwide in 12 packs.

Bell’s Uranus Ready To Ship

Bell’s Uranus, the sixth release in the brewery’ Planetary Series is ready to go.

Starting last year, Bell’s kicked off a new series based on composer Gustav Holst’s “The Planets” orchestral suite. The beer series, like the suite contains seven movements (beers). Bell’s Mars, The Bringer of War arrived in late summer, 2014.

Bell’s Uranus, The Magician, is an black imperial IPA, in an attempted to capture the essence of the dark planet that is almost 1.6 billion miles from Earth when it is closest.

The hop profile is enormous and complex with help from Citra, Galaxy, Polaris and other hard to find hops. The use of de-bittered or de-husked black malt lends color without the overly astringent or roasty flavors normally associated with stouts and porters.

Bell’s Uranus is available in June in 12oz bottles for a limited time.

Bell’s Brewery To Expand, Aims at 1 Million+

Bell’s Brewery (Comstock, MI) is planning another expansion. This one will be huge.

Currently, the brewery can produce 500,000 barrels (15.5 million gallons) of beer annually out of their current facility. Soon, Bell’s will add a 200,000 square foot addition to the production facility, which includes 13,000 feet of keg storage, 100,000 square foot warehouse, new bottling area, and more.

The addition should be completed by February-March, 2016. Post expansion, Bell’s Brewery will have the capability of producing up to 1 million barrels (31 million gallons) of beer annually.

Bell’s last expansion was completed in May of 2012 when the brewery added a 200 barrel brewhouse.

Bell’s Oberon Returns March 23rd, 2015

Bell’s Oberon will make it’s 2015 return (to the markets that it’s not a year round offering) today, March 23rd, 2015. Oberon Day means porch drinking days, pools, and sundresses aren’t far behind.

“With a winter like this one, people are definitely ready to say goodbye to gloves and scarves. Raising that first Oberon is a tradition, something we all look forward to,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

Bell’s Oberon is one of the brewery’s most popular beers, a wheat ale with Bell’s house yeast. Oberon Release Day was so popular the last few years, that a pint was poured every 15 seconds for 15 hours.

Bell’s Oberon 2015 is available in 12oz bottles, 16oz cans for the second year, mini kegs, and of course – draft. This morning, the brewery offered Mango Habanero Oberon brewed with mangoes and habanero peppers at their Eccentric Cafe today in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
