Allagash Merveilleux Releases Next Week

Allagash Brewing Comapany (Portland, ME) is ready to release a new wild ale Merveilleux next week. The name means “wonderful” and there is no doubt that’s the case. Merveilleux will hit the brewery store next week, and shortly after that, nationwide distribution.

The brewery describes this new addition as oaky with a touch of sour.

Style: American Wild Ale (Oak aged)
Availability: 12.7 oz bottles. Corked & Caged

Allagash Brewing Company’s (Portland, ME) Bourbon Barrel Black is pretty amazing. The Belgian style stout is introduced into bourbon barrels and the result is a dark beer dream. This rare treat has only been available on draft for a while now. Finding it has been a bit like seeing a bald eagle in the wild. Rare, and beautiful.

It looks like Allagash is planning to release some of this treat in 75o ml bottles in the future. This week, the brewery was filling bourbon barrels with black, so we do know more is coming. Black is brewed with wheat, oats, barley and candi sugar.

Style: Belgian Strong Dark (w/ Candi Sugar, Barrel Aged)

Allagash and Beer Advocate Team Up

alstrom allagashAllagash Brewing is teaming up with Beer Advocate to create a beer for the Belgian Beer Festival in Boston. Above you see Jason Alstrom adding Glacier hops to the golden ale which will be split with half going in Brett and half hanging with the house yeast.

Allagash Confluence 2013 Now Available

2013 Confluence is now on sale in Allagash’s store. This brew is created with a mixed fermentation featuring their house Belgian style yeast in combination with our proprietary Brett strain. Then it’s aged in stainless steel tanks and finally dry hopped with Glacier hops before bottling. In addition, look for bottles in stores within the new few weeks in limited supply.

Style: Belgian Strong Pale Ale
