New words you’ll find in the next printing of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary include F-Bomb (use it a lot), Craft Beer (drink them a lot), Sexting ( I wish), Life Coach (Need one), even gastropub (not a bar for farting).

5 Rabbit Breaks Ground On New Facility, Hires Brewmaster

The first Latin craft brewery in the United States – 5 Rabbit Cervecería just picked up John J. Hall from Goose Island. He will serve as Brewmaster/Production Deity. That means all brewhouse, cellar, packaging and quality control operations for the brewery.

We are thrilled John is joining the 5 Rabbit team. The coming months are going to be very exciting for us as we bring all production to our new brewery. We can’t wait to see our beers reach their full potential now that John is in charge of production,” says 5 Rabbit partner Andrés Araya. “Making the best beer is the most important thing for us. We were looking for an extraordinary brewer, a highly creative person and passionate beer enthusiast.

5 Rabbit’s brewery just broke ground on their new, 25,000 sq. ft. building in Bedford Park, Chicago.

New Holland Looking At Georgia

A little industry insider info for you. New Holland Brewing (Holland, MI) is looking to make a distribution jump to the Peach State this year. The brewery hasn’t signed on with a distributor yet, but BSJ is told that a distro deal is imminent.

New Holland would join Anderson Valley, Green Flash, Finch’s, Boulevard, Goose Island, Blue Point, Clown Shoes, & more as new breweries to the state. Sixpoint might not be far behind in January, 2012.

Stone Formally Introduces The 4 Pack

Discussion of the new Stone Brewing Co 4 pack offerings are recent news on BSJ. The brewery has formally introduced the new offerings this week.  Starting this month, expect to see Stone Ruination IPA, and OAKED Arrogant Bastard in 12 oz/4 packs. New in the smaller format will be Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale, previously only in 22’s.

“Stone fans have been requesting to get these beers in four-packs and we finally said, ‘Sounds good to us!'” commented Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co. CEO and co-founder. 

What about pricing? According to Savannah Distributing (Based in Georgia) the case cost will remain the same. 4 packs? Consumers can expect the 4 pack price to be around 1/3 less, when compared to the previous 6 packs….

These states will see the 4 pack offerings:  Alaska, Ariz., Calif., Colo., Conn., Del., Fla., Ga., Idaho, Ill., Ind., Ky., La., Mass., Md., Maine, Mich., Minn., Mo., Mont., N.C., N.H., N.J., N.M., Nev., N.Y., Ohio, Ore., Pa., R.I., S.C., Tenn., Texas, Va., Vt., and Wash.
