Iron Hill Russian Imperial Stout Headed to Cans

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (Wilmington, DE) is releasing Russian Imperial Stout in cans for the first time. The beer is described as “a beer worthy of a steak.”

“Russian Imperial Stout earned its first medal in 2003, and 12 years later, it continues to proudly represent our talented brewers thanks to its peerless flavor and their relentless commitment to quality,” says Director of Brewing Operations and Owner Mark Edelson.  “Nothing sounds better to me on a frozen winter’s night than a hearty steak dinner and a full-bodied stout, and that’s exactly what we’ll be serving in honor of Russian Imperial Stout’s continued dominance.”

Iron Hill Russian Imperial Stout will be available in 16oz cans/4 packs starting February 20th at all of the brewery’s 11 locations. Now through March 1st, the brewpub locations will serve a full range of steak entrees to compliment the medal winning beer.

Firestone Walker Readies First Cans

Firestone Walker (Paso Robles, CA) will release their first full production release of cans in February, 2015. The brewery has canned 805, as its own brand last year. This release marks the first Firestone Walker beers in aluminum.

The brewery is kicking off the can lineup with Easy Jack IPA, Union Jack IPA, and Pivo Pils.

“We could have rushed into canning a few years ago, but we wanted the timing to be right,” said brewery co-proprietor David Walker. “The market for canned craft beer is now hitting its stride, and canning technology has come a long way in a short period. Also, cans are a perfect fit for life here on the Central Coast. All of these factors converged to finally reach a tipping point for us.”

At full speed, Firestone Walker’s German-built KHS canning line is capable of producing and filing 400 cans per minute.

12oz Firestone Walker cans will start making their way into distribution at the end of February, and early March, 2015.

Style: Various
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. 12oz Cans (new)
Release: Late February, 2015

NoDa Coco Loco Cans Hit the Market

NoDa CoCo Loco cans have just hit the market. This is the fourth can offering from NoDa.

NoDa Coco Loco is a porter, brewed with toasted coconut (toasted in house.) Combine that with chocolate and brown malts, and you have a medal winning beer.

Deep, rich and delicious. This robust porter has a base of Chocolate and Brown malts for a stunningly deep rich color with ruby highlights. The slight bitterness from American chocolate is balanced with the sweet odotes of organic coconut we toast onsite at the brewery. It was even awarded the Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal in 2012.

NoDa Coco Loco is now available in draft and in 16oz cans.

Style: Porter (w/ Coconut)
Availability: 16oz Cans, Draft. Year Round.
