Heavy Seas Brewing is experiencing what a lot of brewers are experiencing lately – growing pains. As Heavy Seas expands and adjusts to demand, a few things have get cut. These releases will be “marooned” from the 2012 lineup. AARSH Red (Imperial Red Ale), Big DIPA (Imperial IPA), Hang Ten (Doppleweizen), Holy Sheet! (Abbey Ale), Prosit! (Oktoberfest) , Smoke on the Water (Smoked Porter), Yule Tide (Belgian Tripel).
The home brew competition winner, sold under the label Letter Of Marque will also be retired after this spring. This year’s winning style is a “triple wit.” Look for it for the last time in May, 2012.

What’s on deck from Clown Shoes Brewing in 2012? Here’s a cheat sheet:
Cocoa Powder– Imperial Chocolate Stout
LMPG– Let My People Go Pale Ale- Pale Ale, hopefully made with freeze dried pineapple (depends how the test batches come out). Will have Moses wearing Clown Shoes while parting the waters on the label.
The Barista Breakfast Brown – 10% ABV brown with cold water extracted coffee from our friends at Barismo.
The Billionaire – this will be a big barleywine with some English and some American elements.
Lest we forget, the 2nd Anniversary release: Vampire Slayer
January- Baltic Porter
March- Really Old Brown Dog
May- Wheat Wine Ale
September- Scotch Ale
October- Stout (possibly Imperial, possibly something new)
A couple of release have been moved into the 2012 schedule. Smutty addresses this:
…Due to increased demand for our core brands, we lost the ability to have more than one Big Beer in process at a time. This caused two significant delays in 2011′s series and a few small ones as well. We still wanted to brew Baltic Porter and Really Old Brown Dog, so we’ve simply bumped them onto 2012. Otherwise, we tried to make the new schedule with realistic ease-of-production in mind. On other words, we hate missing deadlines and as a result, we set deadlines that were more attainable than last year’s.
Below is the is the 2011 (and part of 2012) schedule for you to compare.
– Wheat Wine Dec. ’10
– Barleywine Jan. ’11
– Imperial Stout March ’11
– Maibock April ’11
– Homunculus (was Short Batch 1 – the Gnome) July ’11
– Farmhouse Ale August ’11
– Gravitation Sept. ’11
– S’Muttonator Oct. ’11
– Baltic Porter Nov. ’11
– Really Old Brown Dog Jan’ 2012

The bottles are going on sale for a big Hunahpu day at the brewery in Tampa, Florida this Saturday, March 12, 2011.
Cigar City’s Blog today revealed details on the event, beers on tap, food and entertainment. Looking good.
We are getting close and we are getting very excited! As the days near and we get more beers together we might update this list, but this is what we have got so far.
Hunaphu Release Day Details
The first 750 people who receive a wristband will be able to buy Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout (up to 4 bottles) when it goes on sale at 6pm. If you are paying by credit card you will be able to pre-pay for your bottles immediately or throughout the day so that you can quickly get your bottles when they go on sale. If there are any bottles left after all 750 people have come to claim/buy their bottles OR 9pm (leaving a 3 hour window for you to claim your bottles if you have a wristband) the remaining bottles will go on sale to the public. Bottles will be for sale ONLY at the brewery. They will not go into distribution.
