Oskar Blues Barrel-Aged Mocha Ten FIDY is coming in July

Oskar Blues Barrel-Aged Mocha Ten FIDY

Oskar Blues Barrel-Aged Mocha Ten FIDY will be available at both Colorado and North Carolina breweries in July.

July 7th National Chocolate Day – a perfect day to release the latest iteration of the most recognizable imperial stouts in beer – Oskar Blues Ten FIDY. That motor oil resembling liquid has been aging in bourbon barrels with Cholaca, a pure liquid cacao.

The finishing flourish is a hefty dosing of Mexican bean cold brew from Hotbox Roasters.

The O.G. Imperial Stout got a one-way golden ticket to the inside of a barrel, where it went ass-over-elbows into a Cholaca chocolate river and then hotbox’d with Hotbox Roasters’ cold brew until it manifested as a smooth mocha mutha.

Oskar Blues Barrel-Aged Mocha Ten FIDY will only be available at the Longmont, Colorado-based brewery and the Brevard, North Carolina brewery on July 7th. Wristbands will be handed out starting at 9:30 am (local time). 19.2-ounce cans are available by the can ($15), 12-count case ($180) with a 5 case limit.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Coffee. Chocolate. Barrel Aged. Bourbon.)
Availability: 19.2oz Cans, Limited Draft. Brewery Only.

Oskar Blues Java Ten Fidy returns again for one day only

Oskar Blues Java Ten Fidy

Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy is hitting shelves nationally again this month. An even rarer edition of the imperial stout will also return – Oskar Blues Java Ten Fidy.

By now you should be familiar with Oskar Blues Ten Fidy, one of the most well-known imperial stouts in the business. The barrel-aged edition has proven to be an instant hit, and not easy to find. This month a Java Ten Fidy will return to both of the brewery’s taprooms for one day only.

Ten Fidy has been aged in a blend of bourbon barrels for nearly a year before a finishing flourish of Hotbox Roasters coffee being added. That’s the same coffee found in the brewery’s Hotbox Porter, and Hotbox IPA.

There is a downside, however. Unlike the national availability of BA Fidy, Java Ten Fidy will only be available at Oskar Blues in Brevard on November 11th, 2017. Numbered wristbands will be handed out starting at 9:30 am, with sales commencing at 10 am.

No distribution.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Coffee. Barrel-Aged. Bourbon.)
Availability: 19.2oz Cans. Tap Room Release.
Debut: 11/4/16
Latest Return: 11/11/17

Oskar Blues She’Boogie Bop, brewed by women

Oskar Blues She'Boogie Bop

Oskar Blues She’Boogie Bop,  a beer brewed entirely by women, debuts this month.

Oskar Blues brewer Diana Locatelli, brewers assistant Lauren Laquerre, along with Kristin Hubbard, and Sara Laurienti from the cellar created the beer. The base is a cream ale, serenaded by the sweet sounds of Prince, with vanilla beans and lavender added post fermentation.

“It’s pretty obvious that the production-side of brewing is male-dominated. I think ladies-only day was a rad way to celebrate being brew chicks. We had a lot of fun making SHE’Boogie Bop.” Using their collective beer prowess to rock the Lyons brewbarn, they created a beer that’s crisp and slightly sweet, with herbal notes from the lavender. – Diana Locatelli, Oskar Blues brewer

Oskar Blues She’Boogie Bop will be available on draft only starting March 13th at the brewery’s Colorado locations and restaurant locations.

Style: Cream Ale (w/ Lavender, Vanilla Beans.)
Availability: Draft Only.
Debut: 3/13/17

5.5% ABV

Oskar Blues Hotbox Coffee Porter is back for another round

Oskar Blues Hotbox Coffee Porter cans

Oskar Blues Hotbox Coffee Porter, a collaboration with Hotbox Roasters, is returning to shelves for a second time. The beer first debuted in December, 2015.

Hotbox Coffee Porter features cold-extracted coffee from Burundian and Ethiopian beans, to give the base porter flavors and aromas of dark plums, chocolate and hints of blueberry.

“Hotbox Porter shows that beer and coffee were meant to be together.  Digging in with Hotbox Roasters allowed us to develop a malt blend and a coffee blend that gel beautifully.” -Tim Mathews, Head of Oskar Blues brewing operations

As you’ll recall, earlier this year the brewery also partnered Hotbox Roasters to offer coffee beans in cans.

Oskar Blues Hotbox Coffee Porter is available nationally in 12 ounce cans and draft through November, 2016.

Style: Porter (w/ Coffee)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft. Sept-Nov.

Oskar Blues Passionfruit Pinner joins summer lineup

Oskar Blues Passionfruit Pinner IPA will heading the brewery’s summer lineup.

The base recipe is Pinner “Throwback IPA” that features Passionfruit and a touch of blood orange juice.

“Passion fruit is very prominent in PINNER Throwback IPA’s dry-hopped flavor spectrum, locking in on that and accentuating it alongside the existing mouthfeel and clean malt characteristics is a natural extension of what this beer is all about” – head brewer Tim Matthews.

Oskar Blues Passionfruit Pinner is available starting in late June in 12 ounce cans, nationally.

Style: IPA (w/ Passionfruit, Blood Orange)
