New Holland Brewing
You want this. New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coconut Rum Barrel
New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coconut Rum Barrel is the newest variant on the brewery’s popular Dragon’s Milk Imperial Stout.
Backstory for those that aren’t familiar – New Holland has created an interesting in-house cycle for for this year-round barrel-aged stout. New Holland also creates their own whiskey in house. The whiskey leaves the barrel, Dragon’s Milk goes in, ages, and is blended. In some instances, bourbon is aged in the barrels that had the imperial stout, creating New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon.
Throw some of that idea out. New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coconut Rum Barrel is coming in October.
This edition finds the imperial stout aged in rum barrels, with coconut. Think of it like the “Dragon” took a tropical vacation.
Taste.
There is no other way to put this. Holy sh!t this beer is good. Coconut, rum and chocolate are the key players here. But really though, it’s all about the coconut. There are so many “whales” running around out there that have coconut that beer nerds will fight over. This coconut rum spin on Dragon’s Milk is hitting your shelves now. Don’t pass it up because it’s not rare enough. We’re talking rum barrel aged coconut imperial stout here. Drink this beer. You’ll be glad you did.

Retro & Dank: New Holland Hoptronix
New Holland Hoptronix is hitting shelves nationwide. Let’s get retro, shall we?
Michigan based New Holland Brewing has a small obsession with hops, as evidenced by the Mad Hatter Series. Those down-the-rabbit-hole line of IPAs are unique and fantastic, but this new imperial IPA just didn’t fit the lineup. This one pushes the boundaries a bit. Just like Atari did when the game system debuted.
Test batches of New Holland Hoptronix were very well received, prompting the brewery to make it year-round in 2017. The imperial iPA is brewed with Mosaic hops that make this beer citrus forward.
“We brought our hop game to the next level using huge amounts of Mosaic hops to tickle the tongue with bitter flavors and then delight the drinker with a clean, balanced finish. This beer will surprise you and leave you wanting more.” – Joel Petersen, New Holland VP of Marketing

Clay Cooper, the brewery’s national sales director, mentions mixing with New Holland Ichabod Pumpkin Ale, saying: “It’s pretty damn delish.”

New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Raspberry Lemon, for summer
New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Raspberry Lemon is a new spin on the brewery’s year-round barrel-aged stout.
If you are a bourbon barrel stout fan, you better at least know this base beer. One of the best known beers in New Holland’s lineup is Dragon’s Milk, an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels from their own distillery.
A little while back, the brewery started releasing some fun variants on the barreled favorite. This summer is New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Raspberry Lemon. How do you make a strong dark beer a little more summery? Michigan raspberries and lemon zest of course.
“Our brewers surprised us with this one and we were amazed how well the flavors and aromas came together to work with Dragon’s Milk. The raspberries bring a depth to Dragon’s Milk that we love and the lemon zest kicks up the fruit aromas and provides a unique, bright, and exciting experience. Our brewers nailed it.” – Brett VanderKamp, President
