Mother Earth adds Heavy Cloud Hazy IPA to year-round lineup
Mother Earth Heavy Cloud Hazy IPA joins the brewery’s year-round lineup in March 2022.
Hazy IPAs are nothing new the Mother Earth, frequently released in the brewery’s ongoing Project X Series. According to Mother Earth, Heavy Cloud a “more accessible take on the style, with the softer palate and more delicate aroma.” Translation – it’s a hazy IPA that’s not a palate destroyer.
“…We were looking to make a go-to Hazy: Something mellow and sessionable, with a slightly lower ABV, but with the hoppiness that IPA fans have come to expect. ”-Chris Baker – Director of Brewing Ops, Mother Earth Brew Co.
Baker also chose a 12-ounce can format for this release as well. Galaxy, Citra, and Sabro are the hop headliners in this release, bringing stone fruit and melon to the flavor profile.
Mother Earth Heavy Cloud Hazy IPA ships this week in 12-ounce cans and draft year-round.

Mother Earth Timber Giant Pale Ale & Treefort Music Fest return
Mother Earth Timber Giant Pale Ale is making a return to the brewery’s lineup, now that Treefort Music Fest is returning.
This Idaho-exclusive dry hopped Pale Ale pairs perfectly with the Gem State’s largest festival. In 2020, like pretty much everything else, found the Treefort Festival cancelled. Bars and restaurants canceled their orders too, essentially killing Giant Pale Ale production. The beer would have to wait.
“After last year’s debacle we really didn’t know what the future of Timber Giant was, or the future of Treefort Music Fest for that matter. Navigating through Covid, we looked at this release as a sign of sorts that life would return to normal someday, so it’s really a symbolic release of better days ahead.” – Daniel Love, President – Mother Earth
This is the beer light at the end of a bad tunnel. Mother Earth Timber Giant Pale Ale is back, an easy drinking 5% ABV pale. The focus of this beer is all hops – Nelson, Mosaic, Citra, & Amarillo. Available in 12oz/6 packs starting in late August, followed by draft in September on-premise as well as the Treefort Music Festival.
Style: Pale Ale
Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, Citra, Amarillo

PROJECT X SERIES: Mother Earth Cognitive Aerobics
The halfway point of Mother Earth Brew Co.’s art-inspired “Project X” Series has arrived, in the form of Cognitive Aerobics. (That’s a beer.)
The can artwork, with a strong colorful 80’s vibe, was created by San Diego-based abstract artist, Michael Carini. His primary medium is acrylic, referring to his process as “Acrylic Alchemy.” Carini really goes into depth on what the name “Cognitive Aerobics” means, worth reading on Mother Earth’s website.
The beer is a hazy IPA, with a 50/50 mix of New Zealand and Pacific Northwest Hops The brewing process apparently captured the fruiter/juicer qualities of the hop blend, compliments by some old-school hoppy citrus flavors. From the description, your palate will definitely get a work out, tasting both old school and new school hops in each sip.
Mother Earth Brew Co. Cognitive Aerobics Hazy IPA is available for a limited time in 16-ounce cans and draft.
Style: Hazy IPA
Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Moteuka, Citra, Amarillo

Mother Earth Big Mother Triple IPA celebrates 11 years

Big Mother’s recipe is a little different every year, but always has a theme – not too boozy, massively hopped. As far as the 2021 edition is concerned: “A whirlpool and dry hop assault lends aromas and flavors of apricot, navel oranges, red grapefruit, and papaya.”
Mothe Earth Big Mother Triple IPA is available in May and June, celebrating the brewery’s 11th Anniversary in 16-ounce cans and draft.

Mother Earth Brew Co. Rail Jam Hazy IPA up next in Project X
Mother Earth Rail Jam Hazy IPA is the latest entry in the brewery’s Project-X Series. Each release in the series is inspired by both brewer, and artist.
The artist is Matthew Perdoni, a visual artist based in North County San Diego. His passion for the arts started less with the comic book stories of Batman and Wolverine, but more with the illustrations themselves. Now his paintings and public artworks are well-known in San Diego.
Fans of artists and their stories, don’t skip on Perdoni’s interview with Mother Earth.
Off the Rails Hazy IPA is a collaboration with Mother Earth’s Director of Brewing Operations, Christopher Baker, and the Vista Location Head Brewer, Bret Stitzman. A lot of the brewery’s hazy IPAs have been lactose-heavy juiciness. Apparently, in this release, the brewery dialed flavor profile back a bit, bringing a bit of balance to the beer, which – might actually seem like going off the rails in this day and age.
Rails features some heavy hop hitters- Cashmere, Lemon Drop, Galaxy, and Citra Hops.
The net-net is that Rail Jam drinks exceptionally smooth, with almost no pronounced bitterness to speak of with bright lemon-lime citrus qualities in addition to melon, peach, and tangerine.
Mother Earth Rail Jam Hazy IPA is available in 16-ounce cans for a limited time where the brewery’s limited releases are sold.
Style: Hazy IPA
Hops: Cashmere, Lemon Drop, Galaxy, Citra
Availability: 16oz Cans, Draft. Limited Release.
