A Quick Rundown of Goose Island’s Next Hop Offerings

Goose Island (Chicago) is adding a new hoppy offering on February 24th, The Illinois, an imperial IPA.

Here is a sneak peek of the next two hoppy offerings from The Goose:

Endless IPA (April) – A “session” IPA, brewed with Amarillo hops. Look for this to come in around 5% ABV

Rambler IPA (August) – Red Ale (heavy on the hops). Brewed with Northern Brewer, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Amarillo. 7% ABV.

Recent new releases include 10 Hills Pale Ale, featuring hops from the hop hills of Anheuser-Busch’s hop farm in Idaho.

Goose Island’s Imperial Series Kicks Off with “The Illinois”

Goose Island Brewing (Chicago) will kick off their new Goose Island Imperial Series with an IPA dubbed The Illinois.

The imperial IPA is full of big “c” hops (for those none beer geeky folks, those pretty bold hops).  While an officially press release from Goose Island is pending, expect this beer to release on February 24th, 2014.

The Illinois is an homage to the mile high skyscraper Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the city of Chicago that was never built. Had it been built, it would still be the tallest building in the world today. Inspired by this big idea, Goose Island’s brewers craft a beer with a towering hop character.

Style: Imperial IPA
Hops: Chinook, Cascade, Citra, Meridian

Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. (Tentative)

9% ABV, 95 IBUS
