A “tropical staycation” is coming to Bell’s lineup in January

Bell's Larry's Latest Fruit Fight

Bell’s Larry’s Latest Fruit Fight will join the brewery founder’s namesake series in January.

It started with Larry’s Latest Sour Ale earlier this year. The brewery moved this kettle sour into the spot in the lineup previously held by Smitten Rye Ale. Now the series will host a new release in the coming new year – Bell’s Bell’s Larry’s Latest Fruit Fight, brewed with passionfruit, lime zest, and wheat. In the dead of winter, Bell himself bills this tropically themed release as a “staycation beer”:

This is a fun beer with a fun name. When it’s released, it’ll be nice little staycation of sorts, a break from the wintery blues January can bring.” – Larry Bell

Many of the beers in the “Larry’s Latest” series never leave the Eccentric Cafe in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. This Fruit Fight will be just the second beer to be distributed in the series. Expect it in 12-ounce bottles, 16-ounce cans, and draft.

Style: Fruited Sour Ale (w/ Passionfruit. Lime Zest.)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, 16oz Cans, Draft.
Debut: January 2019

Check your shelves. Bell’s Roundhouse IRA ships (again)

Bell's Roundhouse IRA

Bell’s Roundhouse IRA is back in the brewery’s canned lineup for the second time.

The India Red Ale debuted on draft in Kalamazoo in 2009 and quickly became a fan favorite. So much so, that Bell’s Roundhouse IRA was released as a 12-ounce can offering for the first time in 2016. The beer features Michigan honey and copious amounts of late addition kettle hops and dry hopping.

Substantial amounts of late-kettle hop additions and dry hopping yield a wonderful blend aromas – everything from pineapple to peach and citrus. Hop intensity is kept in check with a balanced and judicious amount of toasted and caramel specialty malts.

Bell’s Roundhouse IRA is back in all of Bell’s markets for a limited time in November 2017.

Style: India Pale Ale (w/ Honey)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft
Debut (Cans): September 2016

Bell’s Christmas Ale returns with a boozier new recipe

Bell's Christmas Ale

Bell’s Christmas Ale is hitting shelves ahead of the 2017 holiday season with an updated recipe.

What sets this Christmas release by Bell’s Brewing apart, is that it is actually brewed without spices, which isn’t always easy to find in winter seasonals. For years this beer has been a standout on shelves among winter warmers and strong stouts.

Bell’s Roundhouse returns in cans

For the 2017 season, Bell’s has updated the recipe, changing it into a traditional Scotch ale. The brewery describes this new recipe as having “rich and malty with notes of caramel and a warm finish.” The old recipe finished a little over 5% alcohol by volume. The new version is 7.5%.

This traditional Scotch Ale is rich and malty with notes of caramel and a warm finish. Certain to make any occasion festive, or at least a bit more bearable. Enjoy with the company of friends and family.

Bell’s Christmas Ale is available through the end of the year in 12-ounce bottles and draft.

Style: Scotch Ale
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. Winter Seasonal.

Java Stout out, Bell’s Arabicadabra hits shelves

Bells Arabicadabra

A new coffee heavy milk stout has is hitting shelves around the U.S. – Bell’s Arabicadabra.

The coffee puns abound in this new seasonal release. Bell’s Brewery chose Grand Rapids, Michigan based roaster Ferris Coffee for the beans. As far as the 2017 seasonal lineup is concerned, Bell’s Arabicadabra will stand in for the longstanding fan favorite, Java Stout.

Bell’s Larry’s Latest Sour Ale debuts in 2018

Arabicadabra uses a cold coffee extract made on site at the brewery, using Nicaraguan and Sumatran coffee beans and a touch of the milk sugar.

Java Stout will always have a special place in our portfolio and isn’t being permanently retired. This year, we are changing things up a bit. Arabicadabra is a different take on a coffee stout and very similar to a local favorite that was released at our pub and at some events. It’s time to share it with an even larger audience.” – Laura Bell, CEO

Bell’s Arabicadabra is now available in 12-ounce bottles and draft for a limited time.

Style: Milk Stout (w/ Coffee. Lactose.)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
Debut: Fall, 2017
