With America’s 3,000+ breweries and counting, the United States is in no danger of running out of beer anytime soon. Venezuela is not in the same boat.
In Venezuela, 80% of the country’s beer is brewed by Polar Brewery, which has two bottling plants. In the past week, both locations, in the hands of the Sintraterricentro union, have stopped working.
Issues don’t stop there. There is also a shortage of imported beer making ingredients. At this rate, most of the country’s beer supply could be depleted by August.
Empresas Polar has five brands of lager, including Polar Pilsen, Polar ICE, and Polar Light.
