New name: New Belgium Juicy Watermelon Lime Ale returns
New Belgium‘s watermelon lime ale is back in the brewery’s seasonal lineup for a second time. This year, you’ll see it called New Belgium Juicy Watermelon.
The base recipe is basically the same as before. New Belgium tells Beer Street Journal that “Heavy Melon” didn’t really capture the essence of the beer. When deciding on whether or order or purchase, “heavy” anything might be a turn off. Juicy on the other hand, is much more palatable.
Watermelon and lime are the stars of this beer, that finishes at 5% alcohol by volume. New Belgium loves their seasonals, and this one might be the most crazy (non Lips of Faith) offering to date. If beer was fruit at a hot summer picnic, this beer would be it.

Wicked Weed Watermelon Saison canned for Pub Series
Wicked Weed Watermelon Saison joins the brewery’s Pub Can Series on July 4th.
The beer has been a staple in the Asheville, North Carolina based brewery’s lineup for years, and has never been packaged. Unfortunately, Wicked Weed Watermelon Saison will only be available in 12 ounce cans at the brewpub, with no distribution.

Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado, the brewery’s imperial IPA brewed with watermelon is already available in bottles. Next up, 12 ounce cans.
The brewery has been taking a few of their tried and true offerings, and nuancing them with everything from pineapple to peanut butter cups. Recently (or forthcoming) releases include Pineapple Sculpin, Grapefruit Sculpin, & Habanero Sculpin, and Mango Even Keel.
Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado is currently available nationally in bottles and draft.
This Double IPA is not one to back down from big flavors. Mash, kettle, and dry hopping blend to create a huge hop profile that is balanced with a blast of watermelon.

Anderson Valley Briney Melon Gose cans hit shelves
Anderson Valley Briney Melon Gose has already made a debut in bottles and draft. The brewery is expanded upon the success of both their base gose – The Kimmie, The Yink, and the Holy Gose, and Blood Orange Gose, with a watermelon edition. According to Anderson Valley, the beer was a fast-selling.
This week, Briney Melon Gose is hitting shelves across the brewery’s market swath. That puts the brewery’s gose count up to three.
Born from our passion for experimentation, our Briney Melon Gose boasts a thirst-quenching tartness that is perfectly balanced by subtle watermelon flavors and aromas. Gentle additions of sea salt create a refreshing harmony between the acidity and fruity sweetness leading to clean, dry finish.

Leinenkugel Watermelon Shandy to join extensive lineup
Leinenkugel Watermelon Shandy will join the brewery’s shandy lineup in the near future.
The beer/lemonade hybrid lineup already includes Summer, Harvest Patch, Grapefruit, and Cranberry Ginger. The shandy line has been very successful for the Leine’s family, prompting all the brand extensions over the past few years.
One unique take on the style is our Watermelon Shandy, a mix of traditional Weiss beer balanced with a hint of watermelon flavor fora taste made for summer.
Leinenkugel Watermelon Shandy will be a 12 ounce can offering. The brewery has not yet announced this release.
