Monday Night Spirit Animal, the Brewery’s First Sour

Monday Night Spirit Animal

Monday Night Spirit Animal takes aim at the brewery’s elite Black Tie Series in 2015. Important to note, this beer is a sour.

Monday Night’s Black Tie Series has featured medal winning Bourbon Barrel Aged Drafty Kilt (a scotch ale), Master Splinter (Imperial red ale) and Hipster Fresh Hop Harvest, just to name a few. A sour beer changes the game a bit.

Crouching below the surface, hidden in the bubbles, prowling in the tang of the yeast of Spirit Animal, is a wolf. Wild and untamed, this sour ale echoes a time when beer was fermented in the open air in the moonlight.

This wolf is hungry, and he’s preying on your tastebuds. Prepare to be smote. Smiled. Smitten. Whatever.

Monday Night Spirit Animal is aged on toasted French oak and rose hips. Available in 22oz bottles. Monday Night tells Beer Street Journal that Spirit Animal is nearly ready, and will be shooting for an early July release.

A Beer Street Journal video short is coming soon.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ Rose Hips, Oak Aged)
Hops: Chinook, Columbus, Willamette
Malts: Pilsner, Wheat

Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: Early July, 2015

5.5% ABV, 15 IBUs

Monday Night “Master Splinter” to Join Black Tie Series

Monday Night Master Splinter

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta, GA) readies a new Black Tie Series release, Master Splinter. The series is a formal, fancy, experimental series by the brewery.

Master Splinter will be an imperial red ale, aged on hard maple. (Yeah, I giggled too.)

Some of the greatest men on Earth did big things with wooden sticks in their hands. Theodore Roosevelt. Hank Aaron. Judge Judy. Gandolf. We made beer for the folks wielding sticks, risking sprinters every time they swing a bat. Or cast a spell. Or do ninja stuff.

This red ale has the the malt backbone and creamy mouthfeel you’d expect from a red, but with a little something extra. It’s dry-hopped with the floral East Kent Golding hop, and aged on hard maple. None of the sissy soft maple your mom uses.

Monday Night Master Splinter will be available in 22oz bottles and draft.

Style: Red Ale (Maple Aged)
Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: TBA

9% ABV

Monday Night Fills Wine Barrels

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta, GA) is filling red wine barrels today, for a future Black Tie Series release.

The Black Tie Series is a special big beer/one-off/barrel aged series. It’s fancy. You know, black tie fancy.

Releases include Gun Show, Hipster Fresh Hop, Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt, and Bed Head Coffee IPA. Bourbon Drafty just returned again this week.

Depending on the barrels, the wine barrel aged beer (pictured above) could release sometime in 2015.

Got Tickets? To the Monday Night Gun Show…

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta, GA) will follow up their recent Bed Head Coffee IPA release with a new Belgian-style offering, Gun Show.

Those local to Atlanta have probably noticed that Gun Show, and it’s various iterations, have already been on tap at the brewery for a little while. Monday Night Gun Show is a Belgian-style golden ale, brewed with honey and pears. Take it from us who have already had it. It’s crazy good, and sneaky. You don’t know you’re drinking an 8% beer.

When was the last time you hit the gym? Do you even lift, bro? This is a beer you need to work for. A rich gold in color, like the weightlifting medal you wished you’d won, this spicy Belgian-style golden ale has been infused with pears. Be warned – the residual sugars, while deliciously reminiscent of fresh honey, mean that you should only drink this beer on your cheat day. So get back to the gym and work it, bro. I bet I can bench more than you. Let’s go.

Look for Monday Night Gun Show in 22oz bombers, and draft for a limited time.

Style: Belgian-style Strong Ale (w/ Honey, Pears)
Availability: 22oz Bombers, Draft.
Arrival: TBA

8% ABV

Monday Night’s Coffee IPA Headed to Black Tie Bottles

Up next in Monday Night Brewing’s (Atlanta, GA) Black Tie Series is a beer that the brewery has been working on for a while now.

Fans of the brewery have tasted early editions of this future bottle release, Eye Patch Ale brewed with Atlanta’s Batdorf and Bronson coffee. Kegs and casks of this small batch beer were tasty, and disappeared quick.

Monday Night is upgrading this hops-meet-coffee offering for the Black Tie Series – Bed Head Coffee IPA. Batdorf & Bronson brewed up a very special Tanzania Peaberry blend for this release.

That tousled, fizzy hairstyle isn’t fooling anyone. You woke up, threw on some clothes, and headed out the door. Your coworkers start at your bed head and snicker, but you embrace it, grinning smugly as you sip on your morning coffee.

Unfortunately, we don’t make coffee, we make beer. So we turned our local coffee roaster Batdorf & Bronson, to roast us up something special. A limited batch of Tanzania peaberry an earthy, single estate coffee that is the perfect match for a veritable mound of hops. Coffee isn’t just for breakfast. And beer isn’t just for non-breakfast. Wear that bed head proudly.

Look for Monday Night Bed Head Coffee IPA in 22oz bottles.

Style: Imperial IPA (w/ Coffee)
Availability: 22oz Bottles
Arrival: TBA

 8.4% ABV
