Southern Tier Brewing (Lakewood, NY) will add another offering to their Belgian Series next month – Tripel Cafe.
As the name suggests, the beer is a Belgian-style tripel, with coffee. True, but with a twist. Tripel Cafe has green coffee beans. Green coffee beans are unroasted, or immature beans. Orange peel is added to the brew for a flavor boost.
A juicy orange. A green coffee bean. There once was a time when both were considered exotic delights, carried from far reaching corners of the globe. Within this bottle is your opportunity to rediscover these ingredients in an uncommon form, that of a Belgian Style Ale. Enjoy Tripel Cafe with appetizers, or alongside a meal enjoyed with your friends when they happen to swing by.
