Shmaltz Upgrades Death of a Contract Brewer

Shmaltz Brewing Company (Clifton Park, NY) released Death of a Contract Brewer Black IPA in celebration of their first brick and mortar brewery. No more contract brewing for the 17 year old craft brewery.

The first ever black IPA by Shmaltz is now being upgraded to year round status in 22oz bottles and limited draft.

“Celebrate our rebirth with Shmaltz’s first-ever black IPA, brewed with 7 malts, 7 hops and 7% abv,” says Shmaltz Brewmaster Paul McErlean. “Savor this rich, jet black IPA — overflowing with characteristics of coffee, dark chocolate, and fresh citrus with a mix of pine. Deep roasted malt flavors provide support for a bold mix of bright and bitter West Coast hops. We promise, this is one form of Death you’ll want to pour in a glass and shout L’Chaim! (to life!).”

Shmaltz’s new home boasts a 50-barrel brewhouse with 20,000 barrels of annual capacity.

Style: Black IPA
