Sam Adams Intros Small Batch Series with Tasman Red

Sam Adams is introducing a small batch series of ales, starting with the above – Tasman Red.    The series will feature limited edition brews, presumably from experimental batches, and previously draft only brews.

Label:
This wily red IPA gets its character from the Tasmanian hops that are full of grapefruit, pine, and earthy notes creating a bold flavor that threads throughout the taste.  The hops are balanced by a core of roasty malts that give this brew body and richness with hints of toffee.  This flavorful brew is rounded and smooth with a dry citrusy hop finish.

At Sam Adams we love experimenting.  This series of limited edition brews represents some of our favorite small batch creations.  Batch No. 1

Style: IPA
Hops:  Topaz, Galaxy.  Imported from Tasmania.
Malts: Two-Row Harrington, Metcalfe, Copeland Pale, Special B, Caramel 60, Roasted Dehusked malt

Availability: 22oz bombers, Draft
Arrival: TBA

6.5% ABV

  1. This is what I look for in an IPA-type beer. Balance ! Lots of malt AND hops. Not for those who want to be bludgeoned by IBU’s at or near the triple digit level.
Nice red color, caremelly malt flavors, and hopiness like a combo of European and high alpha American hops.
