Oskar Blues to Build New Brewery in Austin, Texas

Oskar Blues (Longmont, CO & Brevard, NC) has announced they will be opening a new brewery and tap room in Austin, Texas. The build should be completed by April 20th, 2016.

Oskar Blues loves music and the local music scene, just about as much as they love being outside. That love made Rolling Stone Magazine name Oskar Blues (Colorado) the hottest place to be on a Saturday night. The North Carolina location was built with a local music focus as well.

Now, Austin, Texas is in their sites.

Oskar Blues has secured a 50,000 square foot space to renovate, which includes 5,000 square foot taproom and music venue location at 10420 Metric Boulevard. The facility will brew the entire can lineup, with an initial capacity of 30,000 barrels (930,000 gallons) annually. Future expansion could bring the facility to 100,000 barrels annual.

“We continue to look at options to grow our brewery to the next level and the experience of opening a smaller, intimate taproom and brewery on a grassroots level in Brevard was a hell of a lot of fun.  As we grow it’s important to find ways to stay small, engaged and intimate within the communities we want to spend our time in,” says Dale.

Oskar Blues opened their doors in Colorado in 2002.
