Guinness Nitro IPA Launches Stateside 12 Ounce Cans

Guinness Nitro IPA is indeed a real thing, and is launching stateside over the next few weeks. The Ireland based brewery best known for their nitrogen infused Irish dry stout simply called Guinness Draught.

SGuinness Nitro IPA, uses five hop varieties, namely Admiral, Celeia, Topaz, Challenger and Cascade to create this hop-forward offering.

Guinness Nitro IPA is a part of The Brewer’s Project, an experimental side project for the brewers to have some fun. This recipe is the brainchild of Luis Ortega.

Recently, Guinness Blonde, brewed in the United States, was introduced to the U.S. market.

Guinness Nitro IPA is available in 6-packs of 11.2 ounce cans, that include the brewery’s “widget” nitrogen technology.

Style: IPA
Hops:
Admiral, Celeia, Topaz, Challenger, Cacade
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.

Ed Note: We updated the can size to 12 ounce cans. The 11.2oz mention on the can refers to the amount of liquid in the can due to the nitrogen widget.

  1. Guinness Blonde reminded me of Rolling Rock. Horrible and not something that should have been greenlit.

  2. Subtle flavors and the nitro make this great beer. I assume the other comments here are from those who enjoy the more traditional, strong flavored IPAs.

Lighten up people – no pun intended – this is Guinness IPA and it seems reasonable that it would have some of the traditional Guniness characteristics rather than a pure IPA.

  3. This is absolutely the worst IPA I have ever drank, and I have tried many IPA’s from all over the country. The beer had virtually no taste and was flat! Guiness ought refund my money!

  4. look i like the idea and that but i dont like plastic in my beer sry…. you have to come up with something else seriously..

  5. Hey Luis, back to the drawing board, an absolutely bland, weak, flat, uninspired swill! If you think this German Urine can compete with American Micro brew IPA’s, especially here in Tampa, Florida your taste buds are up your keester! What a disaster of a product!

  6. This is among the worst beers…and IPAS …I have ever had to drink. It is flat and tastless….and I would like a refund from Guiness or Diego….I would not drink a 2nd can and am very dissapointed as I looked forward to a cold brew tonight.

  7. This beer is pretty poor overall. Flat, and very mild flavor. Definitely not up to par with any of the numerous IPAs being made out there.

  8. I’m here because I found a rattling plastic thing in my can of delicious, hoppy beer. WTF. I was cheated out of 8 ounces of beer–I think. LOL

  9. The best beer I have ever had. To me the run of the mill IPAs have too much of a piney and citrus flavor and a awful after taste. I loved it!!!!!!!!!
