Founder’s always impresses me. I’m one of the many that chase the Kentucky Breakfast Stout kegs all over the place when they surface. A new brew not offered before in Atlanta has started hitting the shelves – Devil Dancer.
Devil Dancer is touted as a “triple IPA.” The description would be fairly correct. Devil is hopped for 26 straight days with 10 different hop varieties!! Yes, hop heads this is a beer for you. Officially Devil Dancer is classed as a double IPA. Although, I’m not entirely sure where a supposed triple IPA becomes a flat out barleywine. Doesn’t make me enjoy it any less!!
Founders Description –
“When you dance with the Devil the Devil don’t change. You do. Massive in complexity, the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alphas used to create it. At an incredible 112 IBU’s it’s dry-hopped with a combination of ten hop varieties. This one can age with the best of them. “
Hops – Unspecified, 10 different strains
Taste Expectations – Huge hops and malts in this beer. Citrus and piney hops shine. It’s a big beer, with some weight to it. The alcohol is fairly well masked for as high as it is. Hop lovers, meet the Devil…
Availability – 12oz/ 4pks. Limited Draft Offerings.
112 IBU’s (Bitter, actually calculations by Founder’s say it could be 200+. There’s debate on if the human tongue can detect that high)
