Sierra Nevada Brewing’s Narwhal Imperial Stout is coming your way in October, 2012. Above is the first look at the artwork. The beer is a new recipe (we were speculating it was akin to the 30th Anni Imp Stout) and joins Sierra’s High Altitude Series. Expect a roasty, full bodied stout as you transition into colder temperatures…
Narwhal Imperial Stout is he latest beer in Sierra Nevada’s High Altitude Series. This malt-forward monster is bold – with notes of baker’s cocoa, molasses, and dark roasted coffee. This massive imperial stout is incredibly complex, rich, and intense and will develop in the bottle for years to come.
Style: Imperial Stout
Hops: Magnum, Challenger
Malts: Two Row Pale, Chocolate, Honey, Carafa, Roasted Barley
Availability: 12 oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: October, 2012
10.2% ABV, 60 IBUs
the art work is by Ken Taylor.
Do you have a link to his site, other works, etc you can give to us?

I think a narwhal imperial stout already exists…

I just tried this beer and is outstanding. A must if your imperial stout lover.
Not a fan. I believe this beer is a victim of hype and/or brand loyalty. I love imp stouts and have, well, more than I care to admit in my cellar and this beer was average at best.
As you know, taste is subjective.
