Deschutes announces further distribution

Deschutes announces further distribution to hit the remaining southern sections of Virginia. Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Newport News and Williamsburg will receive six-packs and draft thanks to a partnership with Chesbay Distributing. Expect to see Fresh Squeezed IPA, Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale, and the Deschutes Variety 12-pack arriving in early January 2016.

Additionally, expect an announcement next month from the Oregon based brewery, of a new year round offering to be launched in tandem with this new distribution partnership.

The announcement of this expanded distribution doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as earlier this year Deschutes announced the building of a new east coast brewery, located in Roanoke, Virginia.

Updated 11/16/2016

Deschutes Brewery (Bend, OR) began shipping to Washington D.C. and northern Virginia October 27th, 2014. A special collaboration with Chef José Andrés motivated the distribution expansion.

Stacy Denbow, expansion manager for the brewery, said, “Our fans on the east coast have been anxious to get our beers for quite some time, so we’re happy to finally extend our reach their way. Our Zarabanda collaboration with Chef José Andrés was the impetus for the growth, and we are looking forward to launching a few of our fan favorites in the region as well.”

At launch, D.C. and northern Virginia (Arlington & Alexandria) received Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Fresh Squeezed IPA on draft only. Some of the brewery’s coveted Reserve Series bottles and kegs – like Mirror Mirror and Black Butte XXVI will make appearances.

Deschutes partnered with Premium Distributors of Virginia and Premium Distributors of Washington DC, both part of the Reyes Beverage Group.

  1. So close to Richmond….almost there! Ive been brewing clones of their beers because of their reputation, but have never actually tried one.
