Blue Point Launching 3 Can Offerings This Month

Blue Point Brewing will release 3 beers in cans this month.  The brewery recently inked a can production deal with Latrobe Brewing.    The three offerings are:  Toasted Lager, White IPA, and Summer Ale.

Currently, Blue Point is in the process of releasing White IPA as you’re reading this.  For White IPA, the brewery blended the soft and approachable appeal of a witbier with the approachability of an IPA.  Toasted Lager is a no brainer for cans, as the beer makes up 65% of the brewery’s annual sales.   Summer Ale (a blonde ale) is set to return in May.… Read the rest

New Belgium “Shift” Hits Shelves

New Belgium’s newest can offering is now hitting shelves.  Shift Pale Lager is ready for your hot weather consumption.  Shift is a light bodied lager brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealeand.  Those hops give you a nice tropical, fruity flavor – much like the Sauvignon wine grape lends to wine.  Nelson hops really shine in a lager.

Heavy Seas is on the cusp of releasing a new collaboration brewed with Devils Backbone (Roseland, Virginia).  The beer is quite befitting a pirate – a “black pilsner.”  Jason Oliver, brewmaster of Devils Backbone grew up and brewed in the Baltimore/DC Area and known Heavy Sea’s Hugh Sisson for long time.   Hugh approached Jason to work on a new collab and of course he took the opportunity.
