Trillium Brewing to open taproom near Fenway, move production facility

Trillium Fenway

Massachusetts based Trillium Brewing has announced a new build in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. Trillium Fenway will be a year-round, indoor/outdoor taproom.

The 1,500 square foot, greenhouse inspired design will be found on the front lawn of 401 Park, a mixed-use office and retail renovation the historic building. Studio Troika has been tapped for the design, touted to “blur the lines between outdoor beer garden and cozy indoor taproom”. Trillium Fenway will offer draft beer, cans, and bottles to-go. Food can be purchased from nearby Time Out Market.

The brewery has not shared a grand opening date.

Additionally, Trillium will be moving its production facility to a new building in Canton. Currently, the brewery is running their brewing, barrel-aging, quality control lab, office, and warehouse out of four different buildings.

Over next few years, Trillium will be slowly building out their “forever home” at a new site across town in Canton, featuring an expanded taproom, full-service restaurant, larger production facility, and event space. The move will take a time to complete according to the brewery.

Trillium was opened by JC and Esther Tetreault, a self-described “dumb couple in love” in the Fort Point neighborhood of South Boston in 2013.

Celebrating 5 years, Trillium throws peanut butter into their imperial stout

Trillium Peanut Butter PM Dawn

Trillium Peanut Butter PM Dawn is now on sale at the brewery in Boston.

This decadent adventure starts as an American stout brewed with cold brewed coffee from Barrington Roasters in Lee, Massachusetts. Celebrating the brewery’s fifth anniversary, Trillium has thrown in peanut butter. The line forms to the left.

The brewery scaled back the cold brew for this edition to make room for a heavy dose of America’s favorite nut butter.

Trillium Peanut Butter PM Dawn presents an opaque black with brown head and lacing. A strong nose of freshly ground peanuts, chocolate peanut butter milkshake and hints of dark plum from the coffee, is followed by a full-bodied palate, rich with complementary flavors of roasty coffee, swirling dark chocolate/cocoa and finishes with delicious peanut butter.

If you find yourself close to the brewery, now is the time to snag this beer. Peanut Butter PM Dawn is available in 16-ounce cans right….now.

Awesome can design: The Veil Brewing Extra Kreme, with Trillium Brewing

The Veil Brewing Extra Kreme

Virginia runs on DIPA. The Veil Brewing Extra Kreme, a collaboration with Trillium Brewing, debuted this week.

Besides the fantastic branding, The Veil Brewing Extra Kreme is a collaboration with Massachusetts based Trillium Brewing. The hop bomb is an “oat” imperial IPA, brewed with Simcoe lupulin powder, Simcoe hop pellets, and Australian Enigma hops. Additionally, oat milk, oat flour and oat malt was used in the brew, making this beer silky smooth.

This beer is actually one of two collaborations created with Trillium Brewing recently. The hoppy one you see above, and a funky beer that has been racked to wine barrels. Debut to be announced.

Extra Kreme debuted Tuesday in the taproom, and as of Thursday, still available in 16 ounce cans.

Style: Imperial IPA (w/ Oat Milk, Oat Flour)
Availability: 16oz Cans

Sierra Nevada Pat-Rye-Ot Revolutionary Pale Ale in May

Sierra Nevada Pat-Rye-Ot Revolutionary Pale Ale

Sierra Nevada Pat-Rye-Ot Revolutionary Pale Ale will be one of the beers in May’s return of Beer Camp Across America.

The last round of Beer Camp Across America in 2014 featured 12 hand-picked breweries that created their own unique beer. In 2016, 30 breweries come together, paired by geographic locations.

Sierra Nevada Pat-Rye-Ot Revolutionary Pale Ale covers the northeast region of the United States – a collaboration with Devil’s Backbone (Virginia), Dogfish Head (Delaware), Lawson’s Finest Liquids (Vermont), Stoudt’s Brewing (Pennsylvania), and Trillium Brewing Company (Massachusetts). For those of you that remember history, all those states were among the 13 originals.

Sierra Nevada Pat-Rye-Ot is an “old-meets-new” take on a pale ale by brewers all located in the original 13 colonies. It features rye and apples, which were among the first ingredients used by American breweries in the colonies, alongside bold American hops-hallmarks of our modern craft beer “revolution.”

Sierra Nevada Pat-Rye-Ot Revolutionary Pale Ale will be a 12 ounce bottle offering in May, a part of the brewery’s Beer Camp Across America 12 pack. The beer will also be featured at the special Beer Camp events across the country.

Style: Pale Ale (w/ Apples)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: May, 2016
