Schlafly Hoptic Visions IPA Pack sees 2nd release with new beers

Schlafly Hoptic Visions IPA Pack

St. Louis, Missouri-based Schlafly Brewing is releasing Hoptic Visions, a variety pack featuring four different India pale ale styles.

This is the second release of the mixed pack, which includes three new Schlafly creations:

  • India Pale Ale (5.0% ABV): Schlafly’s sessionable IPA is a classic hop-forward, golden-hazed beer that features notes of citrus and tropical flavors.
  • Hazy Grapefruit IPA (5.0% ABV): This juicy IPA adds pounds of real fruit for an added complexity. Schlafly amplifies the grapefruit with complementing Cascade and Simcoe hops.
  • Low Cal IPA (ABV 4.0%): Clocking in at 110 calories, the new Low Cal IPA sways to the lighter side but is still packed with juicy hop flavor.
  • West Coast IPA (6.0% ABV): A throwback IPA that sparked the love of hops, Schlafly’s West Coast IPA packs a bitter citrus and pine punch.

The Low Cal IPA is Schlafly’s first foray into the lower-calorie IPA category, while the Hazy Grapefruit IPA is brand new for 2021.

The Schlafly Hoptic Visions IPA Pack is available at all brewery locations, across their distribution footprint for $17.99.

Schlafly releases lager set commemorating Moon landing

Schlafly Lunar Lager Variety

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin touched down on the Moon’s Sea of Tranquility. In honor of this achievement, St. Louis, Missouri based Schlafly Brewing is debuting a “spacy” new Lunar Lager 12-pack.

The box set contains 4 different lagers – Lift-Off Lager, Apollo’s Orbit Black Lager, Moon Walk Dunkel, and The Eagle Has Landed American LagerLager-style beer was very popular in the 1960’s (thanks to AB, Miller, and Pabst) making the style choice for this commemoration very appropriate.

In the spirit of the ’60s, Schlafly designed the Lunar Lager lineup to reflect the time. The bottle fonts come from popular record albums, including the sans serif font from sci-fi and newspapers. The colors come from 1969 For and General Motors paint chips.

Apollo 11 is one of the most exciting feats for humankind, in our nation and beyond, and its impact clearly lives on to 2019. We thought that the 50th anniversary of such a cultural phenomenon deserved a special beer to celebrate so we are releasing four.” – Stephen Hale, Founding Brewer

Far from evil & damn tasty: Schlafly The Devil’s Farmhouse

Schlafly The Devil's Farmhouse

Schlafly The Devil’s Farmhouse joins the Rare Ibex Series on December 22nd.

Schlafly Brewery is one of the biggest names in Saint Louis, Missouri brewing. The 26-year-old brewery is known for a great many beers, but none so hard to come by as the Ibex Rare Series. Don’t feel bad if you aren’t too familiar with Schlafly Ibex. They are truly limited to just a few thousand bottles, whenever a beer decides that it’s ready.

For the second time this year, the Ibex Rare Series has born another unique fruit – The Devil’s Farmhouse. The name doesn’t conjure up thoughts of Christmas, but the design and rarity are indeed perfect for the season. Something truly special, worth sipping with loved ones.

A plethora of malts, including rye, wheat, and dark malt is what the Brettanomyces has been feasting on for over a year. This is no ordinary farmhouse ale. It’s every bit as dark, brooding and complex as the devil himself, hardened by 18 months of aging in wine barrels with sweet red cherries and black currants. Every sip is a wave of farmhouse Bretty funk, tart, and fruity flavors, with the slightest hint of oak. You are sipping little nuances of oaky time, captured in a sexy 750-milliliter bottle.

No this isn’t a beer for mass consumption. Nor is it something easily replicated. It’s beer and brewer passion, elevated. In this case, the devil is truly in the details.

Schlafly The Devil’s Farmhouse will be available starting December 21st in the brewery’s tap room, plus limited distribution, $30 dollars each.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ Black Currants. Cherries. Wine Barrel Aged.)
Availability: 750ml Bottles. Limited release.
Debut: 12/22/17

Schlafly Coconut Creme Ale debuts April 10th

Schlafly Coconut Creme Ale bottle

Schlafly Coconut Creme Ale, the brewery’s second “dessert beer” offering, debuts on April 10th.

Last year’s Double Bean Blonde was great success for Schlafly. The blonde ale featured cocoa nibs and French roast coffee. Fans fell in loved with it, and and have been demanding a follow-up.

Creating Schlafly Coconut Creme Ale required a hefty amount of fresh coconuts, and toasted coconut for aging. The brewery has a habit of using fresh ingredients instead of extracts. That’s important when we talk about flavor.

Nuance is everything in Coconut Creme Ale. This beer is crisp and light and malty. Almost like a lager if you didn’t know better. The use of fresh coconut comes into play at the end of the sip. The subtle wisp of real coconut is what you chase from start to finish. Perfect for spring time on the porch.

Schlafly Coconut Creme Ale will be available in 12 ounce bottles starting April 10th. Little paper umbrellas not included.

Style: Blonde Ale (w/ Coconut, Toasted Coconut)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
Debut: 4/10/17

5.5% ABV, 17 IBUS

Schlafly Smoked Stout debuts in Limited Series

Schlafly Smoked Stout

Schlafly Smoked Stout, a new limited release, debuts Valentine’s Day week.

Built for colder weather, Schlafly Smoked Stout truly is a fireside sipper. The barley is smoked with beechwood, giving the beer hints of smoke. The finish is slightly hoppy, with smoke and a touch of chocolate.

unique, larger format beers and encourage guests to enjoy and share the beers with friends. The Smoked Stout is exactly what you want to be drinking this time of year. Robust and rich, the appropriate amount of hops provide balance while the Belgian crystal malt and German smoked malt lend complexity.” – Ambassador Brewer Stephen Hale
