Copper Thieves Put Beer In Danger At Red Brick

Even if you half pay attention to the news, you’ve probably copper thieves stealing copper from churches, houses & schools all over the United States.   Add a brewery to that list.  Thursday night, copper thieves ripped the metal out of a chiller that is responsible for keeping some of Red Brick Brewing’s 11 fermenters cold.

It comes at a really bad time for the 10,000 barrel brewery.  Just this week, Red Brick started brewing their 17th Anniversary Ale, that will hit bourbon barrels and release in March. On top of that, they just launched Hoplanta, and will start brewing Wee Heavy soon.  Loss of beer in the fermenters could cost the brewery upwards of $80,000 dollars in lost product … Read the rest

Red Brick Wee Heavy Kicks Off Brick Mason In 2012

Red Brick Brewing is expanding their Brick Mason Series in 2012.   2011 saw the release of 16th Anniversary, Double IPA, Smoked Vanilla Gorilla, and Old Stock Ale.  Wee Heavy kicks things off in 2012.  This scotch ale promises to be sweet & malty, with just a light touch of hops.

Red Brick’s Smoked Vanilla Gorilla Next Up In Brick Mason Series

Edition #3 in Red Brick Brewing’s Brick Mason Series is not far away.   The brewery has taken Vanilla Gorilla and added a little twist for the series release: smoked vanilla beans and a little barrel aging for good measure.

Fox Brothers BBQ in Atlanta, Georgia smoked the vanilla beans used in Gorilla.  The base beer is Red Brick oatmeal porter.  The barrels, Jack Daniels.  Gorilla follows on the heels of  Double IPA, and 16th Anniversary.  The last release this year in the series is slated to be and Old Ale.
