Smuttynose Smuttlabs Farmhouse Ale
Smuttynose Brewing Finest Kind IPA is slated for cans. The brewery’s new Towle Farm location kicked off public tours on May 31st, and the first bottles down the line were Finest Kind IPA.
It looks like Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA cans could be around the corner as well. It’s not secret that craft breweries are gravitating towards a canned options.
Finest Kind IPA is currently year round offering in 12oz bottles and draft.
Note: This is a “first look” preview. Details are subject to change at anytime by the brewery.
Smuttynose Brewing is now shipping to California.
The brewery has signed distribution agreements with L. Knife & Son Companies- San Diego-based Craft Beer Guild Distributing of California and Los Angeles’ Dorado Distributing.
Initial beers include offerings in their Big Beer Series (Homunculus and Rhye IPA), Finestkind IPA, and the Stone/Smutty collaboration Custer’s Last Stand.
California is Smuttynose’s 24th distribution state.
More Smuttynose news this week. The brewery’s Big Scotch Ale is less than a month away. The 2013 release will feature a little variation, a blend of red wine barrel aged Scotch Ale.
The red wine blend should add an interesting complexity to an already bold beer. The brewery describes the base beer flavor as: …caramel and subtle roasted malt flavors, Scotch ales can feature smoky flavors (derived from a small measure of peated malt) or, more traditionally, no smoky flavor.
Look for this in 22oz bombers in mid-October.
